background not printing like on the screen
Hi
I designed & printed in word a document that had graphics, text & a 2 colour
horixzonal background. I printed one similar to this before & had no problem
with how it printed. It looked exactly as on the screen.
I have another one that I am printing & have found that the 2 tones print
out more in strips. The colours are the same but there is more of them.
Please help ....

Word 2003: How do I add a header to a blank placeholder page?
I am creating an user manual with MS Word 2003 (PC) and I can't add a
header/footer to my automatically generated placeholder page.
My document has multiple sections with different headers and a universal

Bullet-point list with hyphens problems
I'm using Word 2003 to edit documents and am having problems with a bullet
point list in the document. It was made using hyphens and I suspect Word then
autoformated it to make it a sort of bulleted list with the hypens. I cannot
get rid of them completely, nor replace them with any other sort of bullet.
Deleting the hyphens just makes them jump to the line above. Copying and

Word Drop Down tool for template, how to use once set up?
I've created a drop down menu within an interdepartmental template form. I
find this tool cumbersome to use as I have to double click the box, find the
category on the list, use the move key to bring the it to the top of the list
and then select OK. Should'nt the list from the pull down menu appear
automatically when I double clickt he drop down box?...

How do I get WORD 2003 to show the whole document width on my scre
For some reason, the display of my Word 2003 documents is too wide to fit my
screen and the type, (Times New Roman, font:11) is displayed far too large.
This is quite a recent problem as it was fine before.

2007 Office beta no icon toolbar?
Is there a way to revert to a more classic toolbar in Office 2007, rather
than the icon driven toolbar? I'd like the option of using a toolbar similar
to what I had in Office 2003. It was much faster than trying to figure out
this new layout....

Print Preview
Print preview will only show the first page, the Word document has 4000
words. When in Normal view all the text is shown. As soon as Print preview is
opened instead of the vertical scroll bar being about 1/4 of an inch long it
extends half way down the page....

Corrupt Normal.dot
Opening Word 2003, the cursor is on the first line, no top margin. (Page
setup indicates margin setting is normal). Found out by Viewing Header,
closing it, cursor moves to normal position with top margin in place!!!
Then saved document as doc1.dot, deleted normal.dot and renamed doc1.dot
as normal.dot, but still no luck! What can I do to remedy?

How do I create large page size documents that print on standard .
I would like to create a large drawing ( 11" by 17") for an architectural
plan to submit to my local county office. I would like to have the document
be able to print out to a letter size laser jet printer using standard letter

Getting even columns in a template
I am trying to create a word template that will automatically set columns so
that the information pulling into the colums will always be put into two
columns of equal length. I can only get it to go into one of two columns and
must always manually enter a column break. Is there a way to pull 10 items
that will go into two columns with 5 itmes in each column and then the next
time I use...

Words prints design layout of document
When one of our users prints a mailmerge document more than once, the
document is being printed showing, for want of a better description, the
full design layout of the document e.g. text appears in a box with the
borders showing?? Almost like a document map of nested tables and the like.
Any ideas?

Bullets & Numbering
Hello members. I am hoping someone could help me with the formatting of
bullets and numbering in Word. I somehow lost the ability to make lines
indent with a new line using the tab key, say from from 1 to 1a, 1b, 1c, etc.
It wants to create a new main heading per line, i.e. from 1 to 2, 3, 4, etc.
I can use the indent button on the toolbar to do it, but lose the formatting
when new text ...

Hi,
I'm running Word 2003 as part of Small Business package. Every so often,
just as I go to print a document, all the words in a paragraph will all run
in together - basically, they're trying to squeeze all on the one line. It
makes no difference whether it is a 2 line or 20 line paragraph - they all do
it. I haven't yet worked out how to "undo" this - simply pressing undo

Word XP - can't do duplex AND reverse printing
I'm trying to print 46 pages out with manual duplex. To do this I have to
reverse the order twice - once after the first side is printed out so that
the blank back of the first page is on top, and again after the second side
is printed out to get the pages into the correct order. It seems to me that
I could avoid this if I could get Reverse Printing to work, but it doesn't
appear to work...

+Landscape +text file
I am using MS WORD 97 with SR-2.
I have a file that I wish to save as a Text (.txt) file and in Landscape
style. When I save the file I get a message that tells me that some of the
formatting is not compatible. I go ahead and save the file and the next time
I open the file the data is in portrait style. Is the Landscape style
