White border in print preview or printing of a word doc
Say for example I do this:
Draw a rectangle tight to the top of the page and likewise to the left hand
side and right hand side. Also if i do this at the bottom.
Then either print or go to print preview it shows a white border around my
page cutting anything off (in this case the rectangles)
Is there anyway to get rid of this?
Note: my printer is the latest drivers and has been full...

Full-page headers
Here's a problem I have encountered several times, especially when converting
files from WordPerfect. At various and wholly unpredictable points throughout
the document, the header occupies the entire page, to just above the footer.
I have ensured that the Page Setup>Layout>vertical alignment is set to "top,"
for the entire document, but in this case, that does not correct the

Word layout/printing issue
I'm not sure if this belongs here or not...
I have a word document with 5 columns. The text goes on for 2 pages in each
column. When I look at it in print preview, only the first page shows any
text. I can view the 2nd page, but no text shows. Same thing when I print.
Anybody know what the problem is?
Thanks for any help!

how can I erase the paragraph mark in a footnote?
I accidentally deleted the footnote reference mark in the text as well as the
text in the footnote itself. All that is left is the paragraph mark, which
appears with the message "This is not a valid action for footnotes" when I
try to delete. Any way to remove this?...

Is there a difference between print preview and print layout?
When I create a Word document using print layout, and then view multiple
pages at once using print preview, the layout of the document slightly
differs. Should this be the case and more importantly, how do I synchronise
the two? In essence, I would like to avoid divergence and know what I am
working on and how I structure documents is what ends up being printed....

Changing number of pages
I'm trying to print out five copies of my draft dissertation for readers. The
first time I printed out chapter 1, it had 129 pages; the second time, 137
pages. It looks like it printed one less line on page 1, and then this
cascaded. This of course throws off all the tables, graphics, and maps, which
I had carefully lined up using Print Preview. Worse, it means chapter two
