headers & footers
Hi
When I print a document in WRD 2003, the text in my footer is further away
from the edge of the page than in my header even though I've set them both to
1.25 cm in Page Setup. (Btw the top anbd bottom margins are set to 3cm). And
yet there is this discrepency when I print.
Can anyone tell me what is going on?
PS I can't seem to reply to say thanks to Shauna Kelly for an earl...

I want to be able to use a horizontal scroll bar in word.
I am using Word 2003 and I am having a hard time trying to find a view that
offers you a horizontal scroll bar.
I am using a very large page (11 X 17) and my document is in landscape. In
older versions of word you could toggle between views with a small toolbar
located at the bottom of the page, which of course I didn't know the name of,
but you see your documents outline and other v...

How to delete a full line of small black boxes which appeared?
I typed in four asterisks and then pressed enter. There appeared a full line
of small black boxes which I unsuccessfully tried to remove. I looked for
the autoformat or autocorrect box next or on the line but found nothing. I
tried isolating the line, blocking the area around it, and then deleting it.
That also did not work. I had it reveal the formatting signs in the hope
that this...

Removing the bold
I'm still having problems removing the bold from my line numbers in my
transcript.
The line numbers continue to appear in bold, which I do not want. I went
into style format, and either I don't understand, or this is not where I fix
the problem.
I'm going crazy. It's like MS Word has a mind of its own, and does things I
believe I didn't not want it to to do. I've done hundreds of tr...

How do I get rid of a page break in Word?

have performed all of the recommendations in the Help Files but cannot seem
to get rid of it. It does force a new page even though it is only about 1/3
of the way do on the first page. I also thought it might be a header / footer
causing it but am unable to remove it either. I would really appriciate any

My delete key deletes entire words...cannot delete letters
When I block letters in a word to delete, it deletes the entire word.
for example if I type "abcdog" and only want "dog" the entire word goes away
when I block to delete. Even if not using "blocl" the entire word goes away.
If I block an entire paragraph to delete it will only delete one word at a
time...not the entre paragraph I do not want....

Prevent page setup of deleted section imposing itself on document
In a word document with (at least) two sections, each of which has different
page setups, when I delete the second section, the first section takes on the
page setup of the second section. This is a frequent problem as I use
templates and delete what I don't need. Surely it makes sense for the page
setup to be deleted with the section, not applied retrospectively to the
preceeding sect...

Bullet / Number are separated from its text on column break
I keep running into the following issue: when inserting a column break into a
bulleted (or numbered) text, Word keeps the bullet (number) at the end of the
first column butmoves its text to the second. The only way to join the bullet
(number) with its text is to move close to it a picture with a square layout
(basically, to manually push away the bullet).
I've tried inserting column bre...

how can I erase the paragraph mark in a footnote?
I erased the text of a footnote both in the main section of the document and
the footnote. However, the paragraph mark is still there along with the
footnote marker line. Since there is no note reference in the document, I
can't erase it -- at least by the Help instructions. Is there anyway to get
rid of this?
Thank you!...

Section 1 should not take section 2 format when section 2 deleted
I hope the subject line is descriptive enough. But if ever I decide to
suppress a section in a somewhat complex document, it becomes hell. I really
don't understand why it's like that, but in my mind, the outcome is illogical
and quite the headache.
Example: if section 1 is of a different format (margin, etc), with a header
called "Introduction", and section 2 is a graphic section call...
