Batch-Insert for Master Doc -- code not working
I found this code in an earlier thread, posted by Doug Robbins, to
batch add files to a master document, and I'm getting a syntax error.
Can someone please help? Using Word 2003 SP2.

Headings in a table
I want to place some numbered headings in a Word 2000 table, but use a
different indent and font size than the style for that heading number.
Questions:
a. If I edit the indent and font of these cells, will they (annoyingly)
revert to the heading style's every time Word updates the document?
b. If so, how do I name the style for these cells, or do whatever is
necessary, so that Word w...

Footer set for page x of y, it's but printed shows x of x..HELP!
I am having a real problem with Word. I set a footer to insert page number
via: page x of y, and it shows up correctly on my screen, however when I
print it, it shows page x of x instead of x of y! Can you please help me to
figure this out??? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Create a new Template
Over the years we have altered many of the available templates to do what we
have needed, but now we have need of a template that is unlike any we have
been able to find. Would anyone know where we might look to find a
description of the many special characters used in template building and how

How do you get the watermark to be on top of the page...? I cant move it
around!!! I just want it to be in the header area not in the middle of the

Newsletter printer source
The cost of our notforprofit organization's quarterly publication is
increasing, and we need to find a lower cost option. We used to have
it printed by a small town newspaper publisher. Surely there are
several such businesses available for contract, but I don't know how to

leader in toc
I am completing a toc generated by word. I have period leaders before the
numbers.
I would like to have a .5" space between the number (right alighned) and the
leaders.
Can Word do this for me automactically?

MS Word page documents
Is it possible too have MS Word to function or look like the new "IE and or
FireFox".
Having multiple "Pagebars" being presented in the same window.
This will prevent overloading of the already overloaded taskbar.

How do I disable auto date feature in Word XP?
I am trying to disable the auto date feature in MS Word XP so that when I
create a document with a specific date the date will always remain the same
instead of updating to the current days date when ever I reopen the document.

Monochromatic document
I have word 2000. When I copy and paste an Internet page I get the basically
what was in the html page including the background. I need to convert the
word document into monochromatic(I need to print in monochromatic mode). Is
it possible and how?

making page wider than 22"? for a table
Been trying to make a table that I can adjust in publisher. In order to do
that, apparently I have to make it in word, then paste it in publisher.
Can't adjust the cell sizes differently in publisher
It is approx. 30" long, by 2"
I go to page setup, and it will only allow me to do a max. of 22" either in
landscape or portrait mode?

Outline View - Outline Level pulldown does not format text
Using Office Word 2003 SP2, MS Office Basic Edition, XP Professional.
I'm learning to use Outline View, reworking an existing document. I do not
get expected text formatting when I use the Outline Level pulldown box to
apply a level setting to text originally formatted as Body Text. To get the
formatting I want I must use the Promote to Heading 1 arrow and then Demote
arrow.

it looks like a watermark, but not...it floats can't delete
i have a word doc with some macros...at the bottom is a verbiage line that
appears like a watermark, but it's not..i don't know from where it came, but
i can't get rid of it. i have viewed field codes - nothing shows..what is
this psychic phenomena.. somebody tell me how to delete it.......

Word XP subscript/superscript font effect
how can I set Word XP so that subscript or superscript uses the CURRENT font?
for example, at the moment if i use Arial and want to subscript some text,
the default font for the subscript is Helvetica. each time I have to change
the font back to Arial.
I'd much prefer the default to use the same font, execpt for odd occasions
when I do want to change it.

Odd Section Breaks
Hi
I have a document which needs to be printed double sided. New sections
should start on a new page, but on an odd page. However, I want the page
numbers to continue.
For example, I put an odd page break after page 9. If printed then page 9
will print double sided with a blank page on the back (which is correct). I
then want to insert a new odd section, but I want the page number ...

How do I get a background to print in a non-tiled format?
I am creating a word document with a background and it looks beautiful
onscreen and in print preview; however, when I print it tiles the picture
instead of only one. Any ideas?

Text Box - Layout in Table Cell
Using Word 2003 -- all of a sudden text boxes in all of my documents now have
"Layout in Table Cell" checked. I have always had only Lock Anchor checked
which allows me to move things freely. When I un-check the "Table Cell" box,
I move the box, open Formatting and it is checked again. The text boxes now
jump around and move graphics in seemingly random ways. (the boxes are not

Why is formatting applied to whole document instead of one line
Every time I (for example) indent using 'increase indent' button, or put in
bullet (basically any formatting button I use), the formatting I wanted to
apply to just that line is applied to the whole document. E.g., if I apply a
bullet to a line, every line in the entire document gets a bullet!! When I
ctrl-Z to undo the whole document formatting, then the formatting I DID want

How to get rid of frames, but keep the text in the same place? - scanned document
Hi,
Problems with a scanned document being created with unwanted/unusable
frames... And trying to edit it in Microsoft Word 2000.
How do I get rid of frames in a document, but leave the text (and
spaces) exactly where they are on the page? If the frames were
tables, I could just select the option to convert the table to text. I
have never ran into frames like this before - except on .ht...

Watermark problem
I am not sure why this is so hard in Word (takes about 20 seconds on WP) but
I want to place a Watermark on only pages 1 and 2 of my multiage document.
IN WordPerfect you go to the page you want to discontinue the watermark and
select Discontinue Watermark. I do not seem to be able to do this in Word.
Please what do I need to do to apply this watermark only to the first 2
pages?
