Selecting Number List Changes Style to a Heading
When I write a list of items and change it to a number list, the paragraph styles change to Heading 1 or Heading 4. I use headings extensively, but this is not what I want at this point in the document. I just want a simple numbered list; not a heading. I cannot seem to use the numbered lists feature anymore. This problem happened suddenly after working with the document for weeks wi...

I need to be able to setup a label print where Word will print numbers 1 to 16 on the first sheet of labels, 17 to 32 on the second, and so on. I can not get the 'Labels' set up to accept a customer page size and have not found a way of label numbering automatically? Can Word 2000 do this an...

Automatic numbering within a paragraph
Hi there Not sure if you can do what I want, but I would like to have automatic numbering throughout a document which would appear numerous times within a paragraph ie. 1, 2, 3, 4 some text 5, some more text, 6 etc etc without a bracket or full stop appearing after the number. We can get it to work using listnum fields but it insists on putting a bracket or full stop. Can ...

Copy to find-and-replace without numbering
When I select text from any kind of numbered list and paste it into either the "find what" or "replace with" fiields, it brings the numbering along with it; this is happening with "bulleted", "numbered", and "outline numberd" lists. This behavior only occurs when the very first character in the line (after the numbering) is included in the copy; inclusion of the paragraph mark at the en...

No initial capital after numbered list
Hi! I recently discoverd that if I use a numbered list word does not capitalize the first letter. I understand that this is a well-known problem but is there some way to work around it? It would be ok if this happened just after numbered list but if I open a document and write in it it will autocorrect as it should. But if I then use a numbered list it won`t autocorrect even when I go ba...

Hyperlink / button to bookmark
Hello All, I have a manual where I would like to put a button or hyperlink at the top of each page (i.e. that is in the same position on each page) that when clicked will take you to a bookmark, e.g. an Index or Table of Contents. new footnotes don't change existing numbering!

To Charles & Suzanne - Numbering Outline
I am sorry to bother you again, but I feel like I am so close yet so far. I did follow the Shauna Kelly's instructions. Everything else if great except that at this point, the first 3 levels of the outline are correct, but the 4th, 5th and 7th are not numbering correctly. They appear to read the previous level backwards. Ex: Heading 3 reads - 1.3.2 - Heading 4 reads 2.3.1.1. When I...

On each level I checked the previous level in that box. But nothing shows up in the box after I have picke...
