Specific Numbering Requirement
All,
I want to create a MS-WORD dcoument of the following format:
req-1 This is statement 1

req-3 This is statement 3
The key is:
1. These numbers must be assigned automatically (by use of a macro or

Multiple Page Numbers
I have a request to make a template where the top of the page has page x of y
on all the pages but when you come to attachments, there is another page x of
y for just the attachment pages, i.e., if page 6 through 12 of a 150-page
document included Attachment 1, page 6 header would say:
Attachment 1, Page 1 of 6
Is this possible?

Style based number - copying across documents
Here's what I'm trying to do: copy contents of one document into
another. Both documents have the same styles for the sections I'm
copying. The styles used outline numbering. The only difference between
the styles is that one of them has a different "next paragraph"
setting.
The problem: when I paste, the number scheme changes from a custom
format to using roman lowercase. I've tried pasti...

x of y/ sectionpages problem
I've found lots of posts describing the solution to getting a correct Y in

don't use x of y, use sectionpages field).
But I frequently create documents including:
title page (unnumbered)
tables of contents (numbered using i, ii, iii) [new section]
body (numbered 1, 2, 3) [multiple sections to allow for changing

Does anyone know how I can get the page numbers to appear with a zero prefix
as below:
Page 1 01
Page 2 02
Page 3 03
instead of:
Page 1 1
Page 2 2
Page 3 3
any help would be really appreciated

Automatic RENUMBERING
I hate to keep asking this question, I am having a very difficult time
following the "Shauna Kelly" route. Does anyone have a paint-by-numbers,
simple route to make word 2002, renumber lines the way word 5 did? Simply
compose a list, it numbers the list, when you change the order, it re-numbers
the list. Fast. Simple!! Can this be done in word 2002?? Without all that

Embed an incrementing number within the text
Hi,
I'm using Word 2000 on Windows XP.
I'm going to be sending out letters to customers, perhaps up to 300 and I
want to be able to assign a unique number to each customer, and have it
embedded within the document text. For example: "... your unique reference
number is [ 176 ] ..."
The numbers would begin at '1' and increment by one for each letter being
sent out. I had wondered if ...

cross references inheriting character style
For the number field of captions associated with figures and tables, a
character format is used in many of our large documents.
Unfortunately, cross references in the text to those captions appears to
inherit the character format associated with the caption most times (which
is unfortunate, as the numbering/lettering fields are set at 24 point -
unlike the normal/body text of 12 point)...

in that article work fine their flaw is that they are of little relevance if
we email a Word document out to a client. With Word's default behaviour being
