Openning xml document in MS Word vs IE
I developed an Access database that has several hyperlinks to several xml
documents in a folder. On my pc when I open the hyperlink Access uses MS

Windows Installer Appears at Word Startup
I recently I had to replace my hard drive and thus had to re-install my
Microsoft Word. Now when I try to start Microsoft Word the "Windows
Installer Preparing to Install" message box opens up briefly and Word takes
a very long time to load.
I am sure there must be a simple solution. Any solutions?
thanks, Bob

Table of Contents Formatting
Hi,
I have Word 2003. I have created a table of contents for a document. Some of the entries in the TOC retain the formatting from the document. Others do not. I do not see any difference between the headings in the document. Yet Word treats them differently. I am using a customized consistent format for all the headings. Can anyone help? Thanks.

ToC: in Word 2007
I have already created the Table of Contents and added appropriate entries.
Now however, I find I need more than the default 3 levels.
I know that this can be set when the table is created, but have not been
able to find anything about editing this setting later. Can this be done or
do I need to delete the whole thing and start over? If I do need to restart
I'd much rather do it now, b...

Disappearing speech addin
I thought I had speech recognition installed but it's not on the tool menu
anywhere.
It's supposed to be an option there (even if one doesn't have SR installed)
so that one can install it.
Would someone please advise how to install or reactivate SR?
Thank you.

Request for Help: Sending HTML Email, without any images embedded; details in message body
First part of what I've done: I have created HTML document using
Microsoft Word 2003 with a body of text and saved as .HTML format.
Next, I opened the file in NotePad to add my thumbnail / images code

Message "<doc> is being used by... Do you want to make a copy?"
I have just started using Word 97 with Windows XP.
Whenever I open any Word document, the message: "<document name> is being
used by <my user name>. Do you want to make a copy? OK | Cancel"
This did not happen before when I used Word 97 with Windows 95. How do I
get rid of this message popping up every time?

What is the file Win386.swp?
Not sure where this should be posted. I am running short on space on my hard

open the file and to delete it, but it won't let me. Is it something I can
get rid of without causing problems? If so how do I do it? I'm using MS

I am an author of fantasy fiction and would like to be able to associate
particualar documents with specific dictionaries. I know from reading some of

However, I have had a couple of strokes and have a great deal of trouble

Relative Hyperlinks
I can't seem to make Hyperlinks relative.
These are just links to other documents in the same folder. If I clear
the "Update Links on Save", the links get converted to something like
"C:\585C5E52\Default.htm". Without this cleared, it stores full path
information, which prevents being able to move the documents to another
path.

Convert html to doc while capturing its graphics
Word 97
I can open an .html file via Word and then save that file as .doc. However
that file's graphic images are not embedded into the doc. file like they
would be if the .doc were created from scratch and the images were inserted
into it.
Is there a way to save the .html file as a doc. file in such a way that the
images associated with the .html file become embedded into the .doc file?
