TOC style applied to entire section??
My first time inserting a TOC (Word 2002). I've got the styles defined and
applied. I've got the TOC field inserted and it looks pretty much okay.
But it looks like when I inserted the field, _everything_ in that section
got tagged with TOC1 style! Is this normal behavior? Or did I do something
incorrectly?

Formatting not showing correctly
I am using Word 2002. I have a file which was created by someone else and
is emailed to me monthly, part of it (three lines) do not appear correctly
on my monitor (20" LCD). I thought at first maybe it was because I did not
have two particular fonts. I installed these but the lines still don't show
correctly.

need to insert white-space to define sections of a document
I'm using Word 2007 and need to insert white-space to help difine sections of
a document.
I would like to do this without adding about 2" of the dreaded empty
paragraph. Can anybody tell me how this can be done.

Find & Replace Question
I'm using Word 2007 and the default setting for a search is "Down". This does
not make any sense to me as I always want the whole document searched. You
can change the setting in Search Options, but it has to be done every time.
Is there any way to change the default setting to "All"?

Address layout
I've just started with Win 2003 and tried to alter the Address Layout
as in Win 2000. Of course it doesn't work. Specifically I want to put
the Zip Code on to a separate line. How do I do this please? TIA.

Left overs from Track Changes option????
I have been working on a document with someone, with “Track Changes”
enabled. I have been accepting and rejecting these changes, however,
there appear to be some vertical lines on the left-side of the document
that I can not remove. These lines also appear when printing the
document. There are not any visible comments waiting to be accepted or
rejected for these lines.

Page #s do not start on page after title page?
I found the option to remove the page # from the first page of the
document, however, it now starts numbering the document on the next page
as page 2.
How can I set it up so it starts numbering as page 1?

Start Word in Maximised state
I have Word 2003 running on XP Pro SP2.
Word 2003 is pinned to my Start Menu and, when I look at the properties of
the Word Icon, it is set to Run Maximised. When I start Word (using this
icon), it creates a new document but it's minimised to the Taskbar rather
than in the maximised state.
Does anyone know why this happens and how I can get it to work as I want?

Find won't find, Word 2000
I was working in 3-4 documents and suddenly the Find command stopped
working. I press Ctrl-f to open the Find and Replace panel. I enter my
text and click Find Next and I get a message that Word has finished
searching the document and item was not found. This is a phrase that
occurs hundres of time sin the document and one that it was finding

text runs off the page when printed even when I change th margins
When I print an article where the text is off the screen, it does not print
out the finished sentence . I have changed the margins and still no help. I
pasted it to word pad and the words are there, but when I print it, it cuts

Word 2000 installation problem...

My wife and I use WinXP SP2 on Dell Dimensions. I have MS Works with Word
2000 and she has Office 97 installed. I wanted to upgrade her Word so I used

strange formatting behaviour Word 2003 (not the automatic update issue)
A quick outline of the what I've done and what problem it has led to:

Need to create "newspaper" type columns within my document
I'm working with Word 2007 and in my document I have a few long sections
where the information on any given line is more than narrow enough to have
the information displayed in a newspaper format.
My question is how do I make that happen? Everytime I looks in Help, I keep

How to do a global change to get 2 spaces after each sent period.
Want to make the document consistent. Either one space or two after the
sentence terminates. I work on manuscripts and depending on the style they
require either or. So how can I go in and make them all the same thru out
the document instead of doing them a sentence at a time. Ex: I bit my
tongue. It hurt bad. I cried. (one space - two space). Help!...
