Select text in macro
Helo
Is it possible to select a column in a table when recording a macro without
scripting?
I can't seem to find a way using menu/menubars...

can't view autoroute map pasted into word document

Missing dlls
For a little while I have been editing docs I have been receiving messages
saying I have 2 specific MSSpell dlls missing. After some searching I have
discovered this has apparently something to do with proofing tools in the
wrong language. I have not changed anything on my system to cause this to
happen. Does anyone know the reason for this, I would like to know in case

In school I created a template with a "stop" that you could tab to and fill

Reduce File Size with many images
I Have Word (XP) document that is rather large because of a lot of images. I
thought there was a "shortcut" key stroke that would "convert" the images
and in turn reduce the overall file size. I'm not having any luck finding
it, does anyone here know of one?
The "shortcut" key stroke is similar to the Remove All Hyperlinks: CTRL+A
(Select All) then CTRL+SHIFT+F9 (remove hyperlinks)

Word 2003
I have to do a mail merge letter to 4 contractors with a copy to the client.
Rather than send a copy of each letter to the client, I need to send one
letter, with all the contractor recipients listed, possibly at the top of
the copy of the letter.
Is there a simple way of achieving this please?

I need to make spine labels for videos
I am using Avery product template in order to create spine labels for a VHS
tape. Each time I print out the text, it does not fit into the spine. It's
either too small or too large to fit. Please help....

left ruler paragraph adjuster in print mode gone
I have the ruler on the left hand side but the little arrow that I used to
adjust the page margins with vertically is gone. I know I could adjust it
another way but I liked the ability to use the arrow....

How do I stop Word from adding to my startups?
Every time that I open Word, it adds a "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Works\WkDetect.exe"
to my list of startup groups.
I do NOT want that to start up .. how can I make Word PERMANENTLY stop
putting that into my startup groups? Thanks

Header Footer Pane
I recently did a search (ctrl F) to find a word in a document and a new
panel appeared at the bottom of the screen showing the Footer. (of course
the word I was searching for was in the footer section)
I have never seen this panel before. How can you get it to appear without
doing a Find

Can I merge one .doc into another??
I am a college professor.
I have one .doc called Schedule. It is just a brief table with my class
schedule.
Each term I create a syllabus for each course and that includes a copy of my
schedule. I generally just update my schedule and then copy/paste into each
syllabus.
Is there any way that each syllabus could dynamically go to my schedule.doc
file and update itself whenever I ch...

My document looks different on two different computers
Hello-
I am editing a Word 2003 doc on two different computers (both use Word
2003), transferring the doc back and forth via email. When I open it on
computer #1, it is always shorter (13 pages) than on computer #2 (~13.5
pages); there are more words on each page. I have checked the margins,
two-column sizing, paragraph settings and line spacing, headers/footers,

OT Excel won't reduce window size. Help!
Apols OT but this ng is such magic. Trying to reduce Excel on screen so that
I can look at a directory at same time as keying into a spreadsheet. When I
select reduce, the window does not shrink and I cannot activate the
shrinking arrows at the edges. This is hugely waiting time. All other
shrinks help, eg I can shrink my Explorer or Word window to about a quarter
of the screen and want...

Converting To Caps
Is there a way to highlight entire phrases in a Word document and convert
the entire phrase to capital letters (lower case to upper case), rather than
retype the entire phrase? Also is it possible to highlight a phrase and
have all the first letters of words convert from lower case to upper case?

Adding lines to a protected form
How can I set up a password-protected form for our users that will allow them
to add additional lines with fillable fields and then re-protect the form
without them having to know what the password is? What I would like to do is
unprotect the form, copy as many lines as are needed and then re-protect the
form by having the user just press a button to execute a macro.

Copying files from Windows Explorer
How can I copy just the file names that are listed in a folder in Windows
Explorer into a Word 97 document? All I want is the file names not the
files themselves. I need to do a copy and paste of some sort since there
are to many files to type.

Compatibility with Works4
I am just about to get some .wps files to clean up, which seem to be from
Works4, but I haven't yet been sent the actual files. I think the user had
this package preloaded on his Dell, which he bought a few years ago. A
brief test shows I can make wps files (using Word, after updating it, using
the CD) and then I can read these in Word. Does anyone know if there are
lurking dangers?

I am working with Word 97. I have just transfered everything to a new
computer. All went well untill I tried to use Word. It functions OK with
