Word always opens in design mode (survey form with radiobuttons)
Someone sent me a document to troubleshoot (and it isn't something obvious,
so I'm coming to you)- I'm using Word 2003 on Office 2000.
The file has a survey with 34 questions (across 2 pages) in a 6 column
table. The first column contains the questions, and the next five columns
each contain a radiobutton (with a groupname for each row).
Two problems:

Where do I find Document View in Word 2007?
In previous versions of Word there was the choice of 'document views' -
Normal, Web, Print, Outline, or reading. Is there an equivalent in Word 2007
please?...

Just a quick THANKYOU to all the MVPs, Jay, Suzanne and others, who go on
patiently day after day answering the same questions (although they are of
course from new posters -- (problemees?)). I had taken it for granted, but
strayed to another ng, where I received most terse handling from the
'expert' there. He may be expert in the topic but as for *people*... Made me
appreciate how nice ...

page order
Using Word 2000, I have a document of several pages containing text and
graphics. Some of the pages are only partly filled, by using Ctrl + Enter to
move to the next page. Can I alter the order of the pages while retaining
their original contents?

File Minimization and Word
I posted a similar message on the Windows 2000 board, but I have not
received any responses. The problem is this: of late, when I minimize a
file in Outlook Express, Excel, or Word, I can only retrieve/expand this
file by minimizing the program (e.g., O.E., Word, etc.), which brings me to
the desktop where I then can expand the file from the desktop toolbar at the
bottom of the screen.

Correcting errors
When I correct a letter using Word, why does the next letter disappear?
Before I could go back and remove a letter and continue on; now it removes
the next letter until the end of that paragraph....

Paste desktop icons in Word
Hi,
does anyone know why I can paste some desktop icons into word and not
others ?
I'm trying to put together an introduction to the company desktop with
an explanation of what the desktop icons are for. Some will paste OK
into Word and some will not. Any insight or information will be
greatly appreciated.

Tools/Options choice insists on thinking for itself - help appreciated
Every day, or so it seems, I untick "Horizontal scroll bar" from
Tools/Options - and every next day, when I load Word, there it is again.
It infuriates me that the software won't behave the way I tell it to. Is
there any way of making that particular option stick?
I'm using Word 2000 under Windows XP Pro.

Changed functionality for F4
Word 2003 under WinXP
I've gotten quite used to using F4 to repeat the last action, especially
editing actions.
I've recently upgraded to WinXP from Win2000. Now when I try to use F4, I
get a new document instead of the old functionality? Does anyone know why,
and how to fix?

Inserting page numbers
This has typically been a simple task -- until recently. (I am using Office

On an existing document, I recently wanted to change the location of
existing page numbers from the upper right-hand corner to the center at the

turning off track changes in W97 after changes made in newer versions of Word?
I have a document that I believe may have been edited in a later version of
Word. I use W97 at home, and identified that there are over 100 tracked
changes in the document when I got it, and when I use the track changes
option to show changes in W97, I can see them in the document. However, when

Tabbing thru unprotected section
I have created a form using a protected template that has an unprotected
section in the middle of it to allow for the insertion of a snapshot.
Problem is the user can't tab out of this section to the next field. When
the next field is clicked or double clicked, the entire field is not

Two annoyances...
I am using Word in Office XP 2002 SP3 with all latest updates. There are
two annoyances I would like to eliminate:
1. When I open a particular file, it always opens displaying a small toolbar
in the Word window (See attachment). What is this toolbar and how can I get
it to stop popping up each time I open this document?
2. This same file I use to paste articles from off the internet...

spellcheck not spellchecking
i have office 2003 student teacher pack. i noticed today that spellcheck is
not correcting or highlighting spelling errors. i have checked the
appropriate boxes in spelling and grammar but to no avail. i know that in the
past it has been working ok, so what has gone wrong?

When I click on the toolbar to open a new document I don't see the top and
bottom margins. The paper size is set for 81/2 x 11 but in print view it does

office 2007
Perhaps not the best newsgroup to post this but I could not find any Office
2007 group.....
I have downloaded but not installed the beta of Office 2007. Microsoft sent
me a serial number to use. But can I install this on more than one computer
or can you just put it on one machine??
