Create a table of authors
I've been trying without success to devise a way to use Endnote (v. 9)
with Word (2003) to generate a table of authors. Is there any way to
use Endnote and perhaps the Word TOA to do this?

Continuous Break is BROKEN
I'm using Word XP. Sometimes, but not always, when I insert a
continuous break, it acts like a nex-page break. I want Continuous to
be continuous.

Changing indent for all hung paragraphs
I've got Word 2000. I've downloaded a bunch of cases. Everything is
"normal" style. The hanging indents are set to hang by just 1/8 inch
on the left. I want to change that to 1/2 inch.
I hate to go through hundreds of pages, changing eaching hanging
indent one by one. Is there a quicker way?

Center won't work in FIND
I'm using Word XP. I want to find certain items that are NOT
centered. In the FIND box, I can click "Control + Center" and it
shows "centered". But when I click "Control + Center" again, it just
goes blank. It should show "Not Centered."
Can anybody help?

Char Char1 style added when saving as dot template
Hi,
Whenever I save my Word doc as a template (.dot) it adds a new style to the
style list called "Char Char1 Char Char Char1 Char". In the Modify Style
window, it says the style type is "paragraph and character". Furthermore,
there are a number of instances of text where this style is applied.
This problem is repeatable.
I can delete the style from the style list without seeming to...

Opening a TXT file unbound to paper size/margins
Hello all,
How do I open a text file in MS Word so that it is not bound to a paper size or margins?
I have a text file that I need to import into MS Access/SQL Server. This text file runs out to column 174 in Notepad (when Word
Wrap is shut off). But this text file is in a "Report" format: every 57 lines is the page header for the next page and then

Footnotes and Endnotes, dealing with them from older programs in MS Word
Anyone have any tips on dealing with footnotes from older programs
where the footnotes are not encoded as footnotes, and easily converting
them to proper footnotes in Word?
Example would be a 50 page document with superscript numbers throughout
that represent reference's, and taking that into word and modifying /
reformatting the document so that the page layout changes, but the

page numbers and sub pages
MSWord 2003:
Is there a way to get page numbering to do go into sub-pages? We often
use "Change Pages" and the numbering is a little longer. We also use
chapter nos. preceding the page number. So we have something like this
1-1, 1-2, 1-2.1, 1-2.1.1, 1-3
Can this be done and picked up in the TOC?

Open Doc and Go To
Hello,
Hope I can get some instruction on how to set a template so that the new
document opens with the cursor located further on in the document at some
book mark. I think maybe using a Go To comand in a macro that runs when the
document starts, but I don't know how to do it...
Please help if you have suggestions...

Different customers/project different styles
I use different headings for different projects, e.g.
1. H1
Just H1
1. H1
I H1, II H2
.....
What is the recommended way for me to have all this different styles?
Sometimes I have to jump between this totally different formatted
documents, the customer uses only one setup of these headings?

Missing endnotes
I deleted some endnotes - properly, I think - but apparently Word did
not reorder and renumber them. Hence I have gaps in my numbering - i.e.
my endnotes skip from 71 to 74 and then to 81 (with no in between). How
can I get Word to renumber and reorder them?

Numbering Caption of Figures correctly
Well, in a document with about 16 chapters and lots of subchapters I
use graphs. Below these Graphs are captions. Everything worked fine
until now. Suddenly, all captions start with a numbering of
0.something, e.g. 0.35 for the 35th picture, whereas before they
included the correct chapter number.

Regarding Templates and manifest
hi,
I have created a template which contains custom menu and a toolbar. I
open this template through .Net application.it works fine and opens as
a word document. but when user save this document to local disc and
opens it again, template is not attached and it lost menu and toolbar.I
tried putting in startup directory, then it is coming for all the
documents, even for newly created documents...

Computer Crashed (Reset) Not Long After Openning MS Word
Really Need Help!!! I don't remember since when my computer always
crashed when i'm using microsoft word. At first, it is ok, but not long
after, all of sudden my computer just restarted. It really is not
comfortable. Should I reinstall my office or should i install the whole

Apply font attributes to a selection/range
Working with Word 2003.
I have a table formatting function to apply font format from a table cell to
another table.
While code fragment #1 works fine, I would expect code fragment #2 behaves

Applying style/font with manual formatting from a source table
1. Doc1 contains an Table1, with a header and a data row. Each cells in
Table1 has different style/font formatting, manual or predefined. Table1
itself may have been auto-formatted, but could also contain manual formatting

how to use Find/Replace to ADD a comma
I have a long list of words in 2 languages. I can highlight one set of
words and would like to automatically add a comma to that set.
Is there an automatic way to do this?
One problem is that I can't just use Find/replace to search out the
spaces and replace with commas because some of the words are 2 or even
3 words, ie. A. D., or A. S. A. P.
If I tried to just replace all the spaces...
