Change formatting style on page numbers in index...
Hi,
I wish to change the formatting styles for the page numbers displayed
in my concordance listing. Currently they are the same size generated
by the index in the main document. Can someone tell me where to find
this information in the archives or if it is even possible?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

A real challenge For Word Gurus...
Dear Friends,
Is it possible, in ANY WAY, to have a justified paragraph, but the last line
of that paragraph should be centered, like this:

I asked this back during word 98 with no success, but maybe now there is a

Inserting references without a capital letter
Hi
Does anyone have a solution for inserting references (i.e. from
captions) without it coming up with a capital letter in the front?
>From example; if I have a chart title Figure 1, then when inserting it
as a caption it need to be a capital letter. However, when inserting
into text then it may not need to be a capital letter. Yes I can
change it to a lower case but when I update t...

Having Clear Formatting reset text to Body Text
Is there an relatively easy method (for novice users) for having Body
Text the default style for a document? Specifically, I'm looking for:
1. Clear Formatting to reset the text's style to Body Text; and
2. the style following other paragraph styles (Headings, etc.) to
default to Body Text instead of Normal.

'Tools->Language->Set Language->Do not check spelling or grammar' does not work on the entire document
Hi,
I need to Spell/Grammar check documents that may have sections in which:
Tools->Language->Set Language->Do not check spelling or grammar
had been enabled.
I want to disable it in order to recheck spelling and grammar.
However, I find that I can only disable this feature on pieces of the
document, not on the entire doc at once. (I am having to select individual

two versions of the same document
Hello,
I was wondering if I could solve the following problem with Word.
I have two manuscripts. Manuscript A is shorter. Manuscript B contains
100% of Manuscript A but in addition has text blocks scattered in between.
I want to avoid having two files, since making a change to the
manuscript A would mean finding the exact same passage in manuscript B
and also changing it there, whic...

Figures in long documents often fail to print
I have had this problem every since I have been using Word 2003. I
have figures in my document and I have the options set to include
drawing objects (but not to update links since that would mess up my
TOCs). And it does include them sometimes. But when I print a long
document it misses many figures (the placeholder appears instead). I
have tried everything I can think of but this in...

Inverting a Table of Contents (similar to pivot table)
Hello,
I have a long word document and trying to be structured using headings.
My difficulty is deciding how I group information under headings and
essentially everything needs to be crossreferenced. An Example is as
follows:
1. Country A
a) size
b) population
2. Country B
a) size
b) population
There are pages of text under each heading. Now is there a way to
invert the TOC so I co...

Random Lines
I'm using Word 2002. I've OCR'd a long text and am cleaning
it up. There are lines here and there. They are not graphical lines.
They are not underlines or text-created lines. They are the lines
that when highlighted, show a colored round "handle" at each end.
There are hundreds of them. I'd like to find a quick way to
get rid of all of them. Suggestions?

Priting to two printer trays
Sorry to post to this group but I find it's the most helpful. We're
having a problem printing our letters. This has just started although
we've been using the same system for ages. We changed to Office 2003
recently. When printing a two or more page letter, our macro prints
one copy to a specific tray which contains letterhead paper, and the
second and subsequent pages to 'autoselect' tra...

Style Shortcuts and Lost Functionality
I'm using Word XP.

Strong style -- Ctrl + b
Very nice. Now I'm no longer ever doing direct formatting.
HOWEVER, when I use Find/Replace, I can no longer search for
bolded or italic text. The shortcuts won't work in that dialog box.
I use those search limiters often.
So I killed off my templa...

Fitting Text Precisely onto a Page in MS Word
9/6/06
GOAL:
I've scanned text from an article into MS Word, and would like to
format it so that the amount of text on each page in my Word document
corresponds to that which appeared on the corresponding page of the
scanned article (i.e., no gaps or overuns from one page to the next).
If I can accomplish this, I can then create a PDF file which
corresponds precisely to the original art...
