On inserted JPEGs not showing up properly in Word
I read the comment by CyberTAZ in a post about turing down the hardware
acceleration in the adv. settings in the display properties. I did this and
the problem corrected. Thanks CyberTAZ...

opened later the space is there but the JPEG does't show up. I don't have the
Picture Placemark checked. If I format the picture at all some or all of it
will return but will disapear if I scroll to a new page and return. This just

Adding a visio image to MSWord, the file grows exponentially, why
When I select a tab in a Visio file that I created and copy the page into a
Word 2003 file, the Word file grows by the entire size of the Visio file. I
am not inserting the entire Visio file only a single tab/page, why would the
Word file grow so much from the insertion?
Is there a better way to insert graphics from Visio into Word without
creating 50+ MB files?
Example: Visio file ...

Callouts won't overlay graphic
Using Windows XP and Word 2000, when I try to place a callout on top of a
picture the picture becomes hidden beneath a big blank area containing the
drawing object. This happens with all the drawing objects: text box, circle,
arrow, etc.
If a coworker (using Windows 2000 and Word 2000) has created a doc
containing pictures with callouts (behaving correctly), I can edit them, and

Missing Graphic Images
I have several small files that I was trying to combine into one document

Using the Insert>File command, I was able to successfully do this except...

Changing the background color of the selected row in a table when the document is protected.
Hi,
The situation that I am facing is as follows:
There is a word document that contains a table. The word document is
protected (read only). Whenever an user moves to a new row of the table, I
want to change the background color of the "active" (currently selected)
row.
I tried using bookmarks but that's not working. Using Editors make the
entire row editable, which I do not want.

I'm working with frames to keep figures and their captions together. Now I

Thanks for any suggestions,

Hi there,
I'm struggling to understand why an inserted picture into A Word 2003

slightly dithered gray; slight but unfortunatelly noticeable.
The inserted picture is a PNG and photoshop states it is a RGB/8 bit per
channel file.

Drawing Gridlines
The "View gridlines" option, in all versions of Word I have used so far
(including 2007 Beta 2), has the slight problem that you cannot restrict it
just to a drawing canvas - i.e. if I am drawing in a canvas, then set this
option, then deselect the canvas, gridlines appear over the whole document.
It would be helpful if there could be a drawing grid restricted to the
drawing canvas. Als...

Word 2007 (Beta 2) Layering
When drawing objects (lines, rectangles etc.) into a drawing canvas, these
objects cannot be re-arranged (e.g. bring to front, send to back) - these
buttons are disabled in the ribbon. On the right click context menu, these
buttons are also disabled.
However, these operations work fine if the objects being drawn are not in a
canvas. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
