Way to set maximum width of all pasted-in images?
Hi -- sorry if this is a FAQ, but Googling didn't get me to quite this
question, and this group seems very knowledgable.
I regularly need to copy/paste documents into Word (I'm using Word 2003 SP1)
from a proprietary program that downloads a mix of text and image data, with
the images appearing at random intervals between sections of text. The

Hi, I tried turning off the background printing and the spooling item, the
next print correctly ordered the graphics behind the text. When I opened the
program back up later it was printing incorrectly again. The settings have
not changed. So I am back to step 1 on how do I get the graphics to print
behind the text. Would you have any other suggestions. Thanks....

graphics order behind text
I turned off background printing and the spooling option, this worked the
first time I printed the document, but on subsequent prints the graphics
started printing in front of the text again. When I check the settings that
were given to they are the same. Any other suggestions?...

Why are some JPGs not printing correctly in 2003 Word/Publisher?
JPGs that used to print correctly in 2000 versions of Word and Publisher are
not printing correctly in 2003 versions. It doesn't happen with all JPGs. -
some are printing just fine. In example, one JPG that is mostly blue is
printing out in peach. I disabled spooling on the printer - that didn't
solve the problem. Any ideas? Is the JPG too large? It's 600 dpi. I can

Word Macro to insert and position picture to correct place in docu
I can get a picture inserted into my document with a macro. But, I need to
move where this picture places itself in my document. It automatically posts
centered, and I need it on the right side of my document. I can't do this
with auto text, I have to do it with a macro button on my toolbar.

Pictures embedded in word take a real long time to apear
The pictures that are pasted in word take a real long time to appear.....most
of teh time they just appear as blank boxes, leaving no option but to scroll
down to look for remaining text and being satisfied by imagining that there
is a picture in the doc.

Place graphics/text box off the page
Is there a way (like in Quark) to place graphics or text boxes into the
"gray" area in word. There are sometimes that I use certain images and
instead of creating or pasting in each time, I would like it to be there with
the document and if I place it in, then yes it will print, if it is still in
the "gray" then it will not print.

Pictures that are wider than the column?
I am using WordML (XML rather than binary format) files that have 2 columns
on a page in landscape orientation. Since you can't put a section break
inside a user XML tag, I can't change the number of columns in the middle of
this document. But sometimes I need a Picture or Drawing that is wider than
the width of a column.
Is there some way to mark a Picture to be "positioned" relative to ...

Converting PPT drawing to Word, other than Send-To?
I need to convert PPT Drawing object to Word template
because of the size of the template, the objects dislocate when pasted
the accuracy AND EDITABILITY of the drawing is essential
so I tried send-to then copy to the template/copy from preview pane
both of them work, sustain position and functionality
But the file size is too big

text wrap isn't working
When I place a picture in word the text wrapping doesn't work. If I choose
"in line w/text" it places the pic at the top of the page. If I choose
"square" it will wrap the text, but only if the pic is on the right or left
side of the page. If the pic is horizontally in the center of the page, text
won't wrap around it at all. The "tight" option doesn't work no matter where
the pic is on ...

Editing a picture embedded in a Word doc (Office 2003)
My Firm was sent a Word doc with several pictures in it (made up of text
boxes and arrows etc. but not sure what program it was created in).
When trying to change some of the text in the text boxes, you are taken into
a blank screen with the picture in it and you can make whatever amendments
you want.
When you close and save the info, you are taken back into the original doc

How do I make the graphics bleed into the border so I can print?
I am trying to print a document with images from edge to edge and it looks

In Word Drawing why does the cursor go to the top after deletion.
In using the drawing tools in Word, every time I do a copy and paste or do a
delete contents, the cursor goes to the top of the page after the operation
has been completed. This is driving me crazy and I have looked for a way to
change this on several different occasions, without success. If someone can
tell me how to turn this off, I will be very grateful. Thanks....

How to solve a Word file that doubles in size every time saved
I have set up a flow chart (two pages using text boxes). The file has grown
from 100 to 225 to 350 mb without any apparent additions, jus increases every
time it is saved after an edit.
I have split it into two separate files, but they are now at 350 mb each or

Placing an object at a specified layer
I had a go at drawing a Kingfisher last night and found that when I wanted to
push a new shape into position in amongst existing ones, the only option I
had was to continually choose Draw/Order/Send Backward.
My suggestion is being able to "spot" and existing object and then choose to
feed the new object in behind it
