outline sub titles cannot be created by tabbing in (Ctrl+tab)
I begin an outline format. When I try to set a sub title wiith an indent the
auto-format doesn't allow it. Instead of having: 1) Title... A.) Indented

How do I automatically print hyperlinked documents

Last edit field.
Hi all,
I'm looking to put the last edit date on the footer of my document. I've
found I can embed the edit time, save date & last print dates by using
the fields of the same name. But that's a little bit different to what I
want. I'd like to record tha last date when anybody altered the content
of the doc. Is this possible?

unable to open a docx file in word 2000
I tried the Office 2007 Beta and I created some documents in Word. For some
reason, my computer was giving me a lot of problems and I had to do a
complete restore, therefore, I installed my Office 2000 and now all the
documents I had created in Word 2007 cannot be opened in Word 2000.
Please help.........

Normal Template Changed Message
Each time I close Microsoft Word I get a message "Changes have been made that
effect the global template, Normal. Do you want to save those changes?" As
far as I know I am not making changes. How do I stop making changes, and stop
this message? How do I reset the Normal template to its default state?

How do I get my drop down list to appear on a form
New to making forms. I created a drop-down list on a form to specify a
location (Site A or B or C). When I click OK after creating the list the
field automatically fills in with item at the top of the list (Site A). I
doesnt give me an option....

compare documents: opens a NEW document?
Office 2004 is new to me and I can't see why this is happening: If I compare
a document with another document, it opens a new document with highlighted
changes. Is there any way to disable this and choose to simply show the
document I requested to view changes in with highlighted changes, as a recall
former versions of Word doing? I like to keep documents with created dates
and modifie...

Table of Contents - Numbering keeps changing
I am using Word 2003. My boss gave me a large document with 140 pages that
he needed a table of contents for. So I created a TOC using Word's help
section. I used the Outline toolbar to select the various words that I

Assistance in template development
We are looking for assistance (possibly a consultant) to develop a number of

Changing the Page Number

but are not attached to the Word document. On my table of contents, I want

Missing Language option in Tools (Word2004 for Mac)
I would like to swap between languages in Word, or for there to be an
automatic language recognition (like there was up to a week ago).

Custom Envelope
I need to print an address onto an envelope (size C5) with the address
printing from 11.8cm from the left. When ever I change it in the envelope
options window it just reverts to auto when printing. How can I set this

unpredictable positioning of graphics
Word XP.
I often write 20-25 page proposals with graphics (averages sizes of 3x3
in) inserted using the "square" layout. The graphics are gif/JPEGs
generated at ~144 dpi (much larger than 3x3 in when at 72 dpi) which I
then manually shrink down to the desired 3x3 in size and align
manually. I usually have to spend 1 whole day just aligning the

First bullet is smaller, but all same size font??
I have two incidences of this presently - one in Word and one in Publisher. .
.. it's a bulleted list and the first bullet is smaller than the rest. All
font sizes are the same. I tried cutting and pasting over it, didn't work.

Gaps in text of embedded Word objects
At first I posted this in an Excel forum, because I thought it had to do with
embedding Word in a spreadsheet---but it's a bigger problem than that. An
embedded Word instance displays proportional fonts (even just the standard
Arial and Times New Roman) incorrectly, with uneven spacing and gaps
