Track Changes:date/time stamp format
The date and time stamp in the ballon for track changes is in US format
(09/22/06)although the rest of my document and system is in UK format
(22/09/06). Is there any way of changing this to UK format please?...

word 2007 merge outlook contacts 2007
If I am working with a word document, and I want to email it, I open the send
to mail recipient, but the address book is empty. It does not interface with
outlook 2007 contacts. It previous versions of office it did this
automatically. How do I do this? I did find a "show this address book for
email" option under contacts properties, but it is greyed out and won't let
me choose this as a...

pasting text converts to double spaced
Problem. Copying text from Word to email - the formatting becomes double
spaced, even if the email tool is set to be single space. I've been
researching this in discussion groups and it looks like it's a known bug in
Microsoft. Can someone confirm whether or not this is true? - fyi email is
via Netscape Navigator.

can you move a text watermark?
I am trying to write a large document and write draft. I went to
Format~background~text watermarks. And it entered Draft for me but my picture
is covering it up (and the text) how can I get it where you can see the word
draft but also see the text? I have not used watermarks before and this is

header and footer on page 1 only
The solutions posted for this issue are not working for me. If I check the
box different header on first page the header and footer from the first page
disappears. The same applies if I check the box on the 2nd or 3rd pages. I
want the header and footer on page 1 only. I am trying to join 2 document s
together from different files and this creates the problem.
Any suggestions.

Master documemnt issues
I think the master/sub document handling is word is just awful! I have a
user manual which is constructed of about 20 seperate files. I have several
editions of the manual, which all include some of the different sections.
Each "master" has a table of contents, and an index.
Every time I need to update these documents, it is a major ordeal. Doing

Change measurement, millimeters to inches in word2003
I have a user running Word2003 on a Win2k PC, with lastest updates.
Her Horizontal ruler looks to be in millimeter she needs it in inchs, but I
can't seem to change it. I've gone to: "tools", "Options", the "General" Tab,
"Measurement Units" but it shows "inches". Her: "File", "Page Setup", "Paper
Size", is Letter 8.5 by 11. I've tried renaming her normal.dot so word will
create a new one...

cannot open files on floppy disk
I have files saved on a floppy disk that I was able to open a few weeks ago
but when I tried to open them today it says that they are not accessible
because either the disk has not been formatted or it is formatted as a
macintosh. I have not made any changes to my computer. Has anyone got any

Styleref field error when opened in Germany
We have a repositry of QMS templates that are used in our company across the
US. We now have group members in Germany and several other countries.
The templates are automated with styleref fields to populate headers and
footers. When our teammates in Germany try to use the templates, they get

mail merge: printing multiple pages, or field calculation error
I have a client who is trying to print letters from a mail merge from an
Excel file.
At first when she tried to print the merged file, she got an error message:
a field calculation error occurred on record 1.
Now, she says she can use the toolbar to view individual letters, though the
page counter on the bottom of the screen indicates that it's only a one-page
document.

Customising the default settings for Auto-format and page view.
I am using Word 2003 and recently my Word package has resorted to
autoformatting lists and displaying the page (print layout) at 150% rather
than the settings I originally had. (It was quite happy for over a year!). I
have tried altering the settings in Tools/Autocorrect Options to what I want
and the zoom setting to page width, but every time I launch the software I
lose the customised ...

CTRL+P hangs / very slow to print
CTRL+ P is very slow to print a word document, but if I use the printer icon
from the toolbar it prints very fast without waiting the 1 to 4 minutes.
Anyone with a clue about -- this??...

Add a warning to Insert Bookmark that spaces are not allowed.
And there should be a diagnostic beep or message provided when the user
enters illegal characters. Otherwise, it’s mysterious why the Add button
won’t appear.

Fill-in field
I have created a "fill-in" field which displays a dialog box asking you to
type in your name. My question is how do I create a field in the footer that
also displays my name that was entered in the dialog box created by the
"fill-in" field

Ink stops as soon as I lift the pen
All,
I must have someting set incorrectly! I work in Word2007 Beta2 (have not yet
upgraded to B2TR) I use this on a fats tabletPC with a 1400x1050 screen under
WinXP Tablet Edition)
I tried to write a few words and as soon as I picked up the pen to move to a
second character the Word interface reverts to a text input mode -- that is,
the inking stops and the small floating icon shows ...

cannot open any files
i just upgraded to BETA 2 Technical Refresh, and now MS Word will not open
any files. It gives an error that the file is not found. All other office
programs work fine.

remove Yahoo as default email sender
Word Hi, I always used Outlook to send any Word file from my PC (File ->Send
to...-> Mail recepient as attachment, and it would open Outlook).
Apparently I accidentally clicked 'Yes' to a pop-up window with a question
'Always send e-mails through Yahoo' - or somthing alike. Now every time I try
to send a Word file, it opens log-in window for Yahoo!
Please, help me return to my old co...
