Extract Text out of Textboxes
Hi,
Our OCR-program puts editable text in textboxes in a Word.doc. If we stay
within the textboxes there is no problem.
If we want to add more text than the textbox enlarges with the risk that it
will overlap the underlying textbox.
Is there an easy way to extract all text from ALL textboxes in one Word.doc
and paste it as normal text in another textbox?

Word2000 username missing
hello
Word 2000 sp3 (and windows xp sp2).
If I open a word document from network and it is already openend by another
user it tells me that it is opened by user xxx.
If I open the same document from hyperlink from another document, the name
of the another user is missing.
Any ideas?

Previously used page #s should appear in the CTRL-G box.
That way the user can go to them simply by clicking on them. This would be
analogous to jumping around files using Alt-Tab. It’s useful to be able
“toggle†among a few locations in a document. (Note—perhaps the list of
previous page numbers should include pages that were jumped to by bookmarks,
etc., as well.)

Dialog boxes
When I open an existing document or template, I get an error message saying
that the command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open - even
though no dialog box is open. If I click OK the error message disappears, and
the document then opens. Does any one have any ideas why this happens, and
how do I stop it?
Using Word 2003/Windows XP Professional.

Auto Text
All my auto text entries have vanished and been replaced by standard entries.
Is there any way I can get my original entries back? I have the same version
of Word on my laptop with my Auto Text entries on it, but if I copy a
document tothe PC , when I open it the entries have gone again.
I am using Word 2003 on a Dell PC with Windows XP....

ACT Pop Up window
Hi,
I am completely mystified by a pop-up box sayin ACT every time I open up
Word 2003 from the Start menu.
What does it mean, where did it come from and how doI get rid of it?
I am running Word 2003 in MS Office Professional on Windows XP Professional

dotx template not showing up in "New Office Document" window?

This strikes me as being really strange!

Styles Question
For the second time since I started this particular Word document (Word
2002/Win2000) the name of a style I created has been changed suddenly. This
document contains questions and answers. I created a character style
called Answer-Label as a sort of heading for the actual answer below it in a

Unable to Burn doc
The other days i was trying to burn a document into a CD but i couldn't.
I thought that the doc. might be protected but as i saw in the properties
that was not the case.
In addition to that other docs from my computer were burned succesfully so i
believe it's mot a matter neither of CD nor of burn rights.
The program i used was sonic recorder.

Index marking a (
I have created and recreated the index, however, for some reason I have a
list of ( [pararenthesis] at the beginning of my index & their corresponding
page number.
When I do a find andor replace for these pararenthesis they don't show up. I
can't see them in the show/hide view either.

How can I paste text into Outlook without needing to re-copy it?
There is a "pat" e-mail reply that I use quite often when a student asks me
to reset a user password. Now, I have to find the text, copy it, and paste
it. Is there a way that I can make it "permanent" in the clip board? Or is
there any way to save certain text so that it can easily be accessed and
pasted?...

How do I get rid of the word "normal" when in normal view
When I am in normal layout view of a document, there is a line going from top
to bottom. On the left side is the word normal, and on the right side is the
area where I can type my text. I wish to remove the word "normal" as well as

Text Form Field Delete after printing
Situation:
We have a form that contains Text Form Fields. The form was filled in by a
user and saved. Great.
A user in our office opened the same document. The Text forms fields are

Why does the cursor keeps jumping around the screen as I type?

Can outlining be turned off?

Un removable sybol..

word97 encounters a problem and needs to close in XP
Installed word97 from within office97 & it used to work in XP on my laptop.
Now when I open word97 it opens and after typing a few words says Word97 has
encountered a problem and needs to close and wants to send an error report.
Removed and reinstalled and same problem. Excel works OK. Anyone have any

Print density too light.
I have an HP 1320 Laserjet. The manual says the software overrides the print
settings. I have it at 5 (darkest), and the test-page is dark. But the Word
application overrides teh dark setting and prints too light....

The Sum of a Series
Is there any way to show a summation equation in Microsoft Word? For those
who don't know, the summation equation looks like a big capital sigma with an
"i = [some number]" on the bottom and some other number (usually an n or the
infinity symbol) on the top. It's read "the sum of x sub i as i goes from
[number on bottom] to [number on top]. How can I represent this in Word?...

Break out Index fields ( {xe ) into separate field in Excel or Acc
We use a Word document that is a table and uses index coding. The process
that is using this document has grown from needing a simple table to needing
an Access database. Is there a way to copy the index data from Word into an
Access database?
