Each time I use WORD, I get how many characters, how can stop it
Every time I print something from WORD, I get an extra page of how many
words, characters and such. How do I stop this from happening. Need help....

Doc Shows Colour but prints only in black
I have looked through the posts and haven't found my answer.
So here goes. I two new cartridges in the printer
Documents from any other program print fine.
But from word I can colour code key parts of the docment and it always
prints in black.
Can anyone assist. BTW this is a great forum...

Greyed out tools in Microsoft Word 2003, Prof. Edition
Most items in the tool bar of Word (and Access and Outlook) are greyed
out...eg I cannot copy and paste. This problem has suddenly appeared with no
obvious trigger.
I have tried Detect and Repair to no avail. I have also tried System
Restore .. but it tells me it cannot be restored!
What can I do please?
PS I am not an "expert" !...

Right-Click doesn't work
All of the sudden, when I right-click in a word document, nothing happens.
The menu doesn't show up. I can right-click in Excel and the other Offices
apps, and the proper shortcut menu appears. I've uninstalled Office and
reinstalled, but no luck. Any ideas?

Words get split when printing
When I print my text the last letter of some words seems to be unattached
from the main body of the word ie wor d. The text is justified so i was
wondering if it was something to do with that, however the words aren't split
on screen. I was also wondering if it could be a printer problem.
Any ideas?

word template corruption?
I can start word correctly using Start and Run and typing in winword.exe /a
so I am assuming I have a template corruption. I cannot figure out how to
get to Normal.dot file to rename since it's hidden. Need specific
directions. I am using Windows XT and Office 2003. Help is appreciated!

set default to print first page only
Client creates many different 2 page documents but they only need to print
the first page. Is there any way to set the default so it will only print the
first page. Apparently going into the print menu and changing the option to
print only page 1 is too much work :) . A macro might work but there are
several different users on different PCs involved.
Any suggestions?

Is there a Literary Manuscript template For WORD? Or Publisher?
Is there a template, or modifications that can be applied to any WORD
document, or existing template, to produce a format/template for a Literary
Manuscript?
In particular, I seek the double/or/triple spacing format, with a narrow
right hand column in which to make editorial comments.
Would there be any such template in Publisher, that I have not found, yet?

Change Defaults On Numbering & Outlines
If I write a number on the left side of a page word takes over and
starts to stupidly auro format my document. I don't know of anyone who
would actually use format that word tries to impose. Eventually I can
undo the damage done by auto-formating. My question is how can I turn
off auto-formating for good.

My ruler toolbar
Why cant I see my tab's in inches from 1-12 in 100% view? I get numbers from
2-100... And in 500% I get 1-182.
I can send a print screen to someone if they want to see what im talking
about....

Office 2007 / Office 2003 conflict
I have been running Office 2003 (wife uses Word) and 2007 Beta 2 without
problem until installing the new update which extends and enhances 07. Now,
if I log on and run Word 07 I get "Configuring Microsoft Office Profession
Plus 2007... It will then work fine until my wife logs on and starts 03 and
gets "Preparing to install..." She also ges a Portal Connect.dll error which
she must igno...

Password protecting a Word document for emailing

i've been told that email is not a good medium for sending sensitive
data, as it is not encrypted. but if i password protect a Word document
first, is it then safe to send via email?

Envelope printing position
Using Word 2003, HP6310. Envelope addresses always print as if envelope feed
position is set to center on printer. Changing envelope feed options makes no
difference. Problem is only with one computer, printer (envelope printing)
works OK with other computers.

Error Opening an RTF File
I get an error when trying to open an RTF file with B2TR.
"The file Document.rtf is not available."
Wordpad opens the file no problem....

Custom fields in Word
I have a document where I need to insert a date at several locations in the
file. i will need to change the date weekly. I would like to put the date
in at the beginning of the doc, and let it be able to update the other
references to it. I just don't know how to create that "variable" up front.
Which way is best to do this? (custom field, bookmark, cross reference, etc.)

Header/Footer
Hello:
I was wondering if anyone could assist me with a small problem, I working in
a document that I did not create, formatting the doc and cleaning up
unnecessary tabs.
However, I cannot see the header/footer active in the document; I know that
it there as I have already edited the header.

My Document view just got messed up
I have no idea what happend but now when I go to open a document from
Microsoft word it opens up in the folder view. It does not allow me to see
details or list. When I view my computer through Word I only get a list of
what is on my computer. No icons on the left. Has anyone had this
experience and know how to correct it. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Ribbon missing in Word 2007 Beta
Have a sticking Shift key, but don't know if that caused this problem. I can
no longer see the ribbon in Word. The document is there and I can interact
with it, and there's a button just above the right scrollbar that allows me

Word Won't Start
I'm using MS Word 2000 and Windows XP on a stand-alone PC. In one of the
four user accounts on the PC Word will not start. I've tried using all of
the usual methods - clicking on the icons/shortcuts, double clicking on Word
files and using Start/Run/msword.exe, all to no avail. If I log into any of
the other three accounts it works perfectly.
