Word keeps crashing. Can I reorganize document to help?
Word keeps crashing when I edit a particular document. Is there something I
can do to the document to prevent this?...

My dekstop icons disappeared. How do I retrieve my desktop?
All of the desktop icons disappeared. In order to use the computer I have to
"control-alt-delete" and then browse to get into Microsoft Word to access
Internet and other files. I need to get to my recycle bin. Is there a way
for me to retrieve the desktop without spending a lot for computer repair? I
don't have much money. If there is someone that may have a step by step way
for me ...

An extended ascii character always populates when starting word (cannot delete!)
Hello,
I keep getting an í character on the top left of a new word document. This
issue cannot be deleted via backspace or delete. I have tried deleted the
normal.dot files but to no avail. Has anyone encountered this issue before
and how do i get rid of it?

Page scrolling more than one screen
Under certain conditions (currently observed in a document containing
inserted in-line tiff images), a click in the vertical scroll bar causes the
document view to scroll significantly more than one screen height. In a
region of the same document containing no images (just text), the scrolling
is correct....

Scroll bars frozen after MailMerge from VS2005 Application
1. This problem is affecting PCs at our customer not our devt or test PCs.
2. When the mail merge is done by a VS2005 program, the scroll bars in Word
become frozen or locked (not greyed). It affects all open documents and other
MS applications, eg Outlook. It is cleared when Word (and Outlook etc) are
closed.
3. It affects both Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP2 PCs running Office

word 2003 and norton 2003 Help please.
HELP, I cant find the option to turn off the plug in on norton.
My word docs are still not avalible, I just dont know what to do.
My norton expired ages ago, i had mcafee but thats expired too.

Font size keeps dropping down
For some reason, Word keeps randomly dropping the font size on my styles.
When I go to edit text (maybe one of every 5-7 times or so) it will drop the
text I'm typing down 1 or 2 font sizes, despite keeping the style.
It's not unique to a single style or font type. If I reapply the style it
corrects it, as does just changing the font size. As you might imagine, it is
incredibly frustra...

Been transferring stuff over all day form a computer that runs Windows 98 to
one that runs XP. Loaded office 2000 and when you open a document in Word
and tell it to print, the bar at the top flashes orange and the words on the
bottom bar (that tells you the document is open) flashes too, you double
click on the one at the bottom and the printer box comes up but this flashing

lag experianced when using word
Got a PC at work that has huge LAG issues when accessing office docs
(word,excel) from our server. This is the only PC experiancing this prob, and
it is only with
files that are on the server, if i use word or excell from his hard drive
alls fine. Whats happening is as you type there is a few seconds delay untill
the words appears
and if you try scrolling down the doc its like it hangs. ...

How can I open a file I created in Word that is 500+ MB.
My file with embedded pictures won't open even though it appears in the
folder at 500 Mb. Error message says "trouble opening
file"..."permissions"..."not enough memory". Any ideas on how to open this
behemoth or at least recover text?...

My wife was just working on her thesis in Word and one of her files won't
open now. She just went in and changed the header, then closed it, and now
it not only will not open in Word, but when I tried other ways to open it,

Misbehaving Section Breaks (they change their start location)
I'm having big time trouble with the section breaks in my document. The keep
changing from "continuous" to "odd page" and then back again. I can't keep
them the same! It's driving me crazy. I found a description of the problem

Your styles system is too complicated.
I am using Word 2003 and I can't make the numbering system work! It has been
broken for many versions but seems especially broken in 2003.
In this particular instance I have a document that is completely out of
control. A heading 2 numbers itself independently of the heading 1.
Periodically styles that I have set to Normal reset themselves to Heading

Spell check does not allow me to choose the supplied choices (dimm
I am running Word 2003 (Office Professional 2003 edition) and when I use the
spelling/grammar check, it catches the errors, and I can see the suggestions,
but they are greyed out. The buttons "Options", "Undo", "Ignore All" and "Add

How to add background sound to a web page

Please help with normal.dot errors!
I'm not sure what happened to my template, but everytime I create a new blank
document, the page formatting is way off. The left and right indentations
are correct, but the top and bottom indents are at the edge of each page, not
an inch down, like normal. I have tried editing the normal.dot template, but
