In serious need of your help - Microsoft word Error boxes
Everytime I click on Microsoft Word on my Desktop I get a windows installer
box come up saying 'Prepairing to intall' after a few seconds I get another
box come up entitled 'Problem with shortcut' and an error message that says '

Word 2003 Cannot open word 2000 documents
I have word documents created using Word 2000 SP3 which works fine on all
office 2000 PC.s but i am having a problem opening the document on office

Error 1706 when opening Word 2000?
I started getting an annoying error msg 1706 after just downloading Office
SP3 update this past week. It appears to be trying to install using a CD. It
occurs everytime I open Word 2000 and asks me to agree to the EULA before can
use the program. How can I solve this problem easily since I am not very tech
saavy? Is ther a patch in the works?

HTML editing - span
Hello,
I found out weird behaviours when editing html using Word 2003.
Going straight to the point: take a document having the included HTML source.
This document has just a table with three cells. Each cell contains a span
element marked with an id and a title (when you open it with IE, each cell

Deleting block of text in a document problem on Word 2002
When I highlight empty space to close the space between paragraphs or I
highlight text and press the delete key then I am asked whether I want to
delelte block of text Y or N. If I don't press Y then it will not delete it.
I can press backspace key enough times at the right place and remove what I
want.

I left a word document open and now it is replaced with square let
I have a important document that i typed and I left it open for several hours
and now various paragraphs changed letters into weird coding that is not
html, it seems to be square-ish letters with numbers in it as well. My
document was for a book that I am writing and if I lose those paragraphs
permanantly there is no way that I could recreate it in my mind the same way

Why does my cursor keep shrinking?
When I open an existing document in Word and start typing, my cursor will
sometimes shrink to half its size. I can resize it by zooming up to 500% in

.doc files from one person crash Word right after opening
One person using word 2003 sends our office files. We use XP, word 2002.
Every time we try to open the files, they open, then the message that "Word
encountered a problem and needs to close....". She can send us a .rtf file
with no problems. Is it her problem or ours? This even happens if it is sent
to a middleman and then sent to us (they can open it with no problems).

email in Word won't work
I just installed Office 2003, but only the Word application. When I try to
send an email of a Word document the "mail recipient" feature under Send To
is shown in light colored text (which means can't be used) and I can't click
and make it work....

Macro to change Option back in Word 2002
A while ago I found a Word macro that allowed you to temporarily change
an Option for a certain purpose and then allowed you to return it to
the default option before you changed it. Now that I need that macro I
can no longer locate it. Does anyone have this Word macro or know the

MS Word Set Up Auto Complete Date
On my PC if I type in the first 4 letters of a day it prompts for the full
day name and if I hit enter it auto completes the the day name. Then, if
it's the current day and I enter a comma after the day name, it prompts for
full date - month name, date, and year. When I try this on my laptop it only

"Repeat" function cuts off first letter?
When I use the "repeat" function (edit/repeat or control-y) to replace words
(e.g., two for 2), the first letter gets cut off and I wind up replacing 2
with "wo". This happens consistently with any replacement over 1 character....

Envelope Address Printing Function Doesn't Work
I have WINDOWS XP, and WORD 2000. When I go to TOOLS/ENVELOPES & LABELS, the
envelope address printing function no longer works. I now get an error
message that reads, "There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot

To what directory do I download Adobe Reader 6.0 for Office 2003
When I open Word I get a message saying that Word has detected that my

Can open Word only on Safe Mode!

Word won't start (File Not Found) on web download
Hello All,
On our company intranet, we have several pages which list Word
documents available for downloading. When the user clicks the link, a
"Open, Save, Cancel" dialog appears.
For most users, they simply select "Open" and the DOC file opens in

Correct the grammar in the WordGrammar Check - it's often wrong.
Hi - I find that about half the time the Grammar Check tries to correct me it
is suggesting an incorrect way to state things. Oddly, it will give me the
correct reason for the change but will apply the rule incorrectly. For
example, recently I typed "the meeting requests are sent from another
calendar" and was told to change "are" to "is" so the verb form would agree.

Error Printing in Word.exe
I can not print to a shared printer on another computer in Word. Other
programs work fine - Excel, notepad, etc. but when I am in Word and try to
print to the same printer, Word either freezes or a "send error message"
report pops up.
The remote printer is connected to the computer by usb....

windows 2000 network user cannot save documents in word
Using XP Pro with word 2003. User is not able to use save or save as in
word. Other MS applications work for user and other users can save in word
when logged in to the same pc. User has same issue when logged in to other
pc's.
Suggestions? I don't think it is a local ward install issue....

Auto saved failure
Word 2003, use word as email editor in outlook 2003. If I keep an email open
for awhile I see that auto-save failed and then I get an error that word
experienced an error trying to open the file and gives suggestions. Those
suggestions do not allow me to open the files. I'm OK if I reboot, but then
it happens again. I need to use word as my email editor. Any ideas?
