"Full Name" display problem in Contacts
I fill in the "full name" dialog box correctly (e.g.: First=Mary, Middle=A.,
Last=Jones), but it sometimes (not in all contacts) shows as Jones A. Mary
when it should show Jones Mary A. If I switch the first and middle names in
the dialog box, it shows correctly. So somehow the First and Middle name
boxes are getting switched. Note: This is just for "Full Name" and its

Another Autocomplete Problem
I do tech support for the Marine Corp and I have a Col that can't get
autocomplete to work. Here are the specs/details and what I have
already tried.
Machine is a W2k box with Office 2003, was an upgrade from Office 2000
at some point about 4 months ago. User took this box over this week
from retiring Col, previous user never complained about autocomplete.

Contacts and "Display As"
I'm assuming that the "Display As" line in the contacts page that you fill
out is to show that name or nickname in the from line of an incoming email.
For some reason it does not seem to work for all my contacts. Could someone
point me in the right direction.
I'm running winXP and outlook 2003.

Lost Contacts
Does anyone know where the list for the autocomplete of mail recipients is?
For instance when you type the first three letters of a person's name a popup
window with names you have emailed previously. Like either the file or the
registry entry. I need that list to restore some addresses. Thanks in

How do I swap contents of "first name" and "last name" globally?
I have a Uniden phone along with Uniden software to copy names/phone numbers
from my Outlook Addressbook to the phone. Unfortunately, the Uniden software
imports and sorts ONLY by first name, so I'm looking for a way to "fool" it
into importing and sorting by last name. Uniden has confirmed the limitation

Can't send a message using group contact.
I have 2 PCs with the same outlook. The first one recognized the group and
the other one doesn't. I re-created the group on the new one, but whenever I
send a email using the group it doesn't recognize it. "Microsoft office does

Can contacts be made truly "Private" and if so, how can I bulk cha
I want to synch my personal contacts from my home Outlook client with my
office Outlook client. My office runs Exchange. However, I do not want my
personal contacts to be readable by any Exchange admins (or anyone else at my
company).
If I mark my personal contacts as "Private" within Outlook, will that
encrypt them on Exchange so that they will be unreadable by anyone else?

need to see others contacts
my premissions are set to editor but still say [ unable to display folder.the
contacts folder could not be found ] there are two outlook profiles that do
this all 54 other set up the same way work fine the two that don't work are
new is there a server setting on the exchage server that need to be looked at

outlook deletes my contact e-mail address
when I enter an e-mail address to my address book, some of them save fine and
others will not. Especially if I have sent a message to this person before.
Outlook deletes the e-mail address automatically but saves everything else
just fine. Can someone please help me with this. I have tried everything;
distribution lists, checking for blocks in addresses and even deleted a

Address Book has all info, new outgoing mail comes up blank...?
The Address Book in Outlook has all info, i.e. email addresses, phone
numbers... The new outgoing mail has a "TO" select button that directs the
new outgoing email. When I select the "TO" option it only has a few names
from the address book displayed. Is there some kind of evil filter that must
be turned off?

transferring contacts from one computer to another

contacts backup for Outlook 2003

how do i keep the email display name from changing in Outlook?
my home Outlook is connected to my MSN email account. when I change the
display name in in my Outlook Contacts it wil stay for about 1 day. then it
reverts back to before I changed it. I would guess there is a setting to
make Outlook the keeper of the data, but cannot find it....

Why can't I send a message to someone in my Personal Address Book.
I am currently getting my email in Outlook via Army Knowledge Online. I have

Outlook should have shortcut to add email address to mailing list
It would be useful if, in addition to Add to Contacts and Outlook Properties,
you could right click on an email address in the To or other header line and
have it appended to an existing distribution list in a local Contacts folder.
