how to link new mail to bcm?
in business contact manager, when I open an opportunity and click to new
communication item, I do not see new email; I only see new task, phone call,
appointment etc. Also when right click an opportunity, in the create list I
don't see new email and again I see new task etc. In this case, to send a
mail regarding an opportunity I send the email, go to sent email and link.

BCM 2007 Homepage
I cannot get the BCM homepage to display upon every attempt it crashed
Outlook. This occurred on initial install. All the other features work just
no the BCM homepage.
I have already removed and reinstalled.
Recreated the Outlook profile.
Recreated the database.
Installed all available updates for Windows and Office

Problem with Notify me of replies button
There is a problem with Microsoft's "notify me of replies" button. When I
click the button, it fails. How can you get help if the group mail is not

Outlook 2003 - Contact Manager
How do I obtain this?. I have just bought 2003 and assumed this was already
included! Runs slowly and appears to be installed twice on my machine....or
is this correct. Would have gone straight to 2007 but my PDA is not ready
for 2007 synching yet...

Error: Business Contact Manager could not complete your last actio
I keep having problems with 2007 BCM. Have had a total of 8 hours of calls
with MS support on 4 different occassions to no avail.
First problem occured when out of the blue, and Outlook said it had
encounted an unexpected error, and must shut down -- subsequently each time I
would open Outlook, it would shut down immediately.

New button has disappeared!
Recently the New button and the Business Contact History Items (which let you
link a contact to a Note, Task, or Appointment have disappeared.
I wasn't adding or deleting menu items... they just disappeared from the
Ribbon menu. Has anybody seen this before, and how do I get them back???

Scheduling Phone Calls
BCM has created a phone log, but why does it not have the ability to
"Schedule a Phone Call" that will show up in the To Do or Task area, with the
number to call pre populated...Act has this and when you have 20 or 30 calls
to make in a day, and all the phone numbers are there, right in the Task

categories
I have a set of categories set up on my main computer where my bcm
database is located. on a second computer my BCM contacts are sorted
by the categories from my main database. On the second machine the
categories are not availible.
How do I add the categories to the second machine? is ther a simple
way?

Hi There,
Does anyone know how to structure ACT history data to fit into the BCM note
field. It appears that the import is trying to fit the note into the subject
portion of the note field & not placing the rest into the main body

Are there any easy way to access SQL tables behind BCM for dummies
the point is there's no way to make easy mass editing or mass replacement of
data in BCM.
E.g. long time ago a database of companies was imported to BCM from MS
Access database.
Unfortunately many (if not all) URLs of web-sites containing in database
became corrupted as result of importing data and what's worse - it has been
noticed much later, after many amendments and modifications in...

I have numerous daily tasks all linked to business accounts in BCM. I need
to create/print a report that shows me all tasks by task due date, then by
Business Account Territory, then by a user defined field on the Business

Marketing Campaign with Direct Mail
I'm trying to complete a marketing campaign using BCM 2007. Each time I try
to launch a direct mail merge I get the message "Business Contact Manager for
Outlook could not complete your last action or actions. Please try again."

User no longer available...
Hi,
WHen we started using bcm it was setup on a single pc (im still trying to
find a solution to server install), since then the user account has been
removed from the server. I need to alter the sharing etc, but it says i
have to be the user that created bcm to do this. Do i have to recreate the
original user or can i take control of bcm a different way via the
administrator account...

Marketing campaign "who will see it" account lists are blank
Start a campaign. "Who will see it list" has the accounts check boxes to the
left but the names will not load. I can double click on the blank line and it
opens to the that contact. It does not matter if there is one or many
contacts, the check box is there that you can check or uncheck, but the name
does not appear...

Managing contacts
When I click "lookup Outlook contact" I get the error message "Cannot find a
contact with this email address".
I know that the contact exists but it is stored in the Business Contact
Manager address book (local database). I understand that Outlook is searching
only through the standard 'personal folders' for contacts.
Surely there must be a way to resolve this and set Outlook to search thr...

2007 upgrade - bcm won't run
i loaded office 2007 enterprise edition. bcm won't come up. is there a file
i can download or even purchase a disc? it was working (office 2003) just
fine before the upgrade. any info is helpul.

Accounts Not Indexing
Is anyone having problems with their BCM Accounts indexing correctly? About
a week ago, my search feature stopped returning Accounts - it only returns
BCM contacts associated with the BCM Account I'm querying.

The prerequisites for the Database Admin Tool says:
a.. Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

When it says Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 (32-bit only) does that include

Business contact manager
I have Office Pro 2007 installed.
I thought that BCM was included.
I can find it as installed and inactive, and when I reinstalled Office, it
didn't appear to be a choice there either.
Can it be downloaded somewhere?

Importing Goldmine data to BCM 2007
I have tried exporting from Goldmine to XML and then importing to Excell 2007
(for later export to BCM) but Excell said there was a problem with the Schema
file. Are there any other work arounds you can think of for this data
transfer?
