Address handling with BCM 2003/2007 Beta - really need assistance!
I might be "blind" (and apologize if so), but not anywhere on the net I can
find some good answers to my struggling with hos BCM handles addresses. One
of the most usual issues that occurs in daily business life is that an
Account changes some information (address, telephone or something), that of
course needs to be reflected on the associated Contacts to that Account. Is

There was a problem connecting to the database engine...
This error message turned up after 18 months of successful use of BCM. I
followed help instructions to add a user to the BCM group but it didn't help
at all. I couldn't find any other solutions. Any ideas? ...

BCM can't find my original database
Hi!
Is there anyone who are willing to help me reach my database with a lot of
information? After moving files back and forward in the eplorer BCM can't
find the database. If I create a new one it's no problem, except that it's
empty.
I can see that the original database files is in the folder Business Contact
Manager along the new emtpy one. But It just do not show up in BCM? Are ther...

Error 1714. The Older Version of MS Office Outlook 2003...
I have MS Office Professional 2003, and recently downloaded BCMV2UPD.exe
which is a Business Contact Manager update. I am receiving all kinds of
errors such as "SQLEVN70.RLL error uninstall and re-install". Also the error
"1714 the older version of MS Office 2003 Outlook with Business Contact

Filter Address cards in business contact manager
I'm trying to filter out inactive contacts. I've created catagories (active,
inactive). Then tried to filter, defining the criteria either "Categories
contains Active", or "Categories contains Inactive." The results are
inaccurate, giving me some inactive contacts regardless.
Any ideas?...

Error message after restore bckup data into new db in bcm
BCM with Outlook 2003 Professional I use it religiously and solely to manage
affairs in business everyday, all day I have been recording notes and phone

My Business Contact manager will not open and because of this Outlook won't
open. I have tried opening in safe mode, detect and repair. I also attempted

Where can I find info on designing forms in contact manager?
I am trying to design my own contact forms in Business Contact Manager, and I
can't find any support for this feature. Am I looking in the wrong place or
is this just a learn-as-you-go thing? I have my basic fields laid out, but I
want to use some more advanced features to duplicate some of the forms that

Language problem with BCM 2007
Very willing I installed Outlook 2007 beta. When I wanted to download
my Dutch backup from BCM 2003, I got the message that this backup was
in another language and not to restore.
Is there a solution to overcome this problem?

major problem - can't see new emails
suddenly i'm unable to see any of my new emails - i have all the emboldened
"folders (3)" in my folders view, but none of the emails are present... the
last thing i did before this happened was another attempted install of the
new Vista and Checkdisk...
i've uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook BCM now, with no results.

Problem mapping from Excel
I have a customer database created in Excel which I want to import into BCM.
When I import my database into Accounts, everything (Account Name, Address,
Phone, e-mail etc.) arrives in the correct field in BCM Accounts except for
the Primary Contact. I have tried mapping it over again to the Primary
Contact Field but it still fails to import to Accounts at all.
Am I doing something wrong o...

Merging 2 ACT Databases into 1 BCM
I recently switched from ACT to BCM. I am running two separate business and
had two separate databases in ACT. Now that I am using BCM I want to combine
to databases into one. I have imported both databases into BCM and "Updated

Mass edition of contacts
Hello all, I'm new to the club so forgive me if my question is a tad dumb.
Anyway, I recently installed the 2007 beta and decided to give the BCM a try.
I imported my BC database from various files I kept them in previously - and
from my mobile Nokia address book. And here's the question: Nokia
automatically calls all untagged phone numbers as "default", which are then

Outbox stalls, Sends only from Drafts
Occasionally my Outlook2003 Outbox will not 'send' (happens only with
Replies, Forwards, or New messages composed & copy/pasted from Word). The
only way I can fix (?) this is to move the stalled message from Outbox to
Drafts, open the message for editing, and then click Send. It goes back into
the Outbox but now will actually transmit. Haven't a clue as to why this

Outlook should let me import current versions of Act! (2006)
I'd love to import all my contact info into Outlook. BUT, the latest version
the import function supports is Act! 2000. That's a dinosaur! If you're
using Act! for serious business use, you are well advanced beyond Act! 2000.
So, you might as well be saying that you cannot import Act! contacts at all.
MS really needs to get this updated.

I am being tasked with building a .NET application using Outlook 2007 as the
UI. BCM currently contains 90% of the logic that I require. However it is
lacking some key features. Will there be an API made available so that I can

Searching contacts through e-mail address context menu
I was used to search contacts through context menu of e-mail address
mentioned eg. in received e-mail (MSOffice 2003). But after Business Contact
Manager was installed, I moved all contacts from Contacts folder to Business
Contacts in BCM folder. Now I am not able to search contacs like described

BCM and Exchange 2000
Can BCM be used with Exchange 2000? Or do we have to upgrade to 2003? The
various websites seem to indicate it must be 2003.
I will be the primary user although two others want to see my sales activity
and occasionally enter customer contact info.
