Had to rip out Beta, then Outlook BCM as well
I'm going to post this, mainly so other readers will hit on the two error
messages I got. I posted before about how a perfectly working install of the
Beta side-by-side with Office 2003 apps incl. Outlook with BCM Beta got
broken when two folks clicked on Outlook 2003 shortcuts instead of the
Outlook Beta shortcuts. I think this completely effed profiles, all of them,
and permanently. E...

In composing a new message in Outlook with Bus. Contact Mgr., I'm clicking

"contacts" or "business contacts", but I have seven different contact lists I
use routinely when in the CONTACTS view of outlook.

Act 2006 by Sage very poor performance
I have been using Act 2006 since its release. I upgraded from Act 2005
thinking that the new version would improve performance but this is not
so.
Act 2006 is as slow & cumbersome as Act 2005 & I am in the process of
making a change.
Can Act 2006 be imported to MS Outlook. If it can be done plse advise
how.Would I need Outlook 2003. At present I have Outlook 2002.
Thanks

Can I convert Outlook journal entries to Contact Manager history?
Have always used Oulook Journal entries (mostly phone calls & emails) linked
to my contacts to track activity. Has anyone found a way to convert these
linked entries to Contact Manager History notes associated with the imported
contacts? I don't want to lose all the previous history.
If not, are there any workarounds?
Thanks,
Todd...

Install problem w/SQL Server Desktop Engine when installing BCM up
I have attempted to install the BCM update twice and each time the
installation gets hung up at the SQL piece. The last info that appears states
"please wait while Windows configures Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine".
The progress bar gets almost to the end, saying 6 seconds remaining and stays
there. I've left it running as long as 30 minutes and it won't move beyond
this point. Plea...

Newbie
I run Outlook in exchange server mode and use a pocket pc/phone with mobile 5
software. It works just fine. I am considering installing Business Contact
Manager as I think it will allow me to combine business info in one place.
However I am not clear what effect this will have on my pocket pc. I believe
BCM does not yet synch with mobile 5 but does that mean that any addressess,

How do I convert business contact management databases?
Installed Outlook 2003 and imported the *.pst from my old hard-drive. PERFECT.
I then installed BCM on the new laptop. I attempted to link to the SQL for

I contacted Microsoft tech support and was informed that I should delete the
V1 of BCM and install V2 from the Website. I did the above and was informed

Search BCM Notes?
Hello All-
In BCM, as I enter a new Communication History Item (Business Note, Phone
Log, etc), I would like to be able to search those items at a later point,
but am not finding a way to do so.
So... If I am talking to a customer, and they mention that they would like
information on Product X, and I document that in the Phone Log. I have a
large number of customers, and say 2 month...

SQL Server 2005
Hi,
How can I install BCM 2007 without installing SQL Server 2005 Express?
On my Test-PC I already had a valid installation of SQL 2005 Express: BCM
2007 didn't took notice of this instance. I was not able to see an option, to
install BCM 2007 without the database part.
Thanks for your hint.
