Business Contact Manager (BCM)
I run Office 2003 Small Business Edition with Business Contact Manager. I
have today downloaded an Update to BCM (125mb!) and now the whole of my
database has disappeared!!! In fact there is now no BCM on my PC. Please
someone, anyone HELP!!!!

business contact manager unable to initialize form
I checked the disabled items and BCM does not appear there, and even after
shutting down and rebooting (warm/cold), I'm still getting the form
initialization problem. I even ran the "Detect and Repair" utility. I have
BCM 2.0 installed and it's been working flawlessly for the longest time, vs.
all the problems I had with 1.0, and then yesterday something hosed it. Help!...

change default folder
When using a program that accesses Outlook BMC for the customer/client, it
automatically defaults to the "Contacts" folder and does not appear to give
me an option to change to "Business Contact". Most of my prospects are in the
"Business Contacts" folder. Is there a way to make BMC default to the
"Business Contacts" rather than defaulting to the "Contacts"?...

Cant connect using out look from a remote office to Exchange server??
Does anyone know?
I have a remote site that is connecting to the HQ exchange server and now for
some strange reason it can’t connect although I am convinced that I have
connection to the outside world because the internet is o.k. but I just can’t
figure out why I cant connect to the exchange server.
Any Ideas?

Remote access with BCM v3
Hello,
I am currenlty using BCM v2 on a peer to peer network.
Will BCM v3 offer remote access, ie from another office? If this will
be possible with v3, will i need to buy a server to do it?

Only One Report Before Crash
I have recently installed v2 of OLw/BCM. Forgetting the numerous
shortcomings of using this for tracking service-oriented opportunities, the
tool works okay for me until I try to view reports. I can view the first
reports fine, but when I close that and try to view another, OL has to
shutdown. This is everytime, regardless of the report I am viewing. Can
anyone offer a suggestion?

Can I import a Note to Contacts or Accounts
I used an online survey site to send out a survey to selected BCM 2003
Contacts and Accounts. I wanted to track responses etc., so I sent this from
the online site, not from BCM. But I do want to log the fact that I sent out
this survey in Biz History. How can I import a .xls or .csv file with, say
the Name, email addie but get it to be a Note as opposed to filling a Contact
field?...

Edit "opportunity" "type" liss
Wedeliver "projects" not discrete items. I'd like to edit the "type" list to
make if more meaningful. Want to make it project types - "lighting
upgrades", "controls", "air flow", "consulting", etc. Naturally these are
all "one-of" pricing, but I can deal with that separately.

every time I use space bar it leaves dots inbetween words
When I use the space bar (when sending email) it leaves a dot inbetween each
word. This has only just happened and would appear that something has
triggered it off. How can I take it back to normal?...

BCM 2007 installation help!
I/ve tried installing, removing and re-installing Outlook and BCM 2007.
Outlook itself works fine, but each time I try to install BCM 2007 I am
refered to a non-existent log (MSsetuptmp.log). Does anyone have any tips on
fixing this error? Thanks...

Outlook displays the wrong icon in Business Contact Manager folder
How do I change the icon in the Business Contact Manager folder from the task
icon back to the contacts icon?
Under the folder for Business Contact Manager, two lower levels display the
Task icon instead of the Contacts icon. How do I correct this?...

How to restore Contacts Outlook Business Contact Manager 2003
I backed up computer on a secorndary drive and performed a reload per
manufacturer. After reloading my computer I restored all the data/emails etc
into outlook from the backup but my contacts are not there.
I copied the .mdf and .ldf files from the backup but I still don't have any
contacts. Please assist. Thank you....

Sub-Folders under Bus. contacts in BCM 2007 beta
Is there a way to create sub folders &/or groups for contacts under the
Bus.Contact folder in BCM 2007 beta (other than catagories). I have
thousands of contacts which are currently sub-foldered in outlook....

Problems with Installation
I haven't seen this one posted, so here it goes.
It SEEMS that BCM installs fine. I've created & specified the database using
the "mail" function in the Control Panel.
When I start up Outlook 2007, it appears in my folder list, but ANY time I
try to expand that folder list, adjust it, view it, etc., it causes Outlook
to fail and close.
Any ideas?...

HELP REQ - severe problem, new mails or replies stalling/losing fo
composing messages has become impossible at this point - whenever i am
writing a new mail or a reply, about every few seconds the entire operation
stalls (blinking cursor, typing... even Send if i try that when this happens)
- often the Message loses focus and Outlook retakes it, at times it loses
focus and then has to regain it - but always there's a complete stall about
every 20 to 60 ...

Using BCM at home..
I have BCM installed on a client at my workplace with sbs2003.
I would like to be able to use BCM at home on my desktop PC, but am unsure
on the best way to do this so that additions/modifications will still
synchronise.

Outlook 2007 and BCM (Beta) joys and frustrations
Hi,
I just want to share a topic about the joys and frustrations I found
with testing the BCM beta version for Outlook 2007:
Joys:
- Installation went fine for me
- customization of forms works at basic level -> still need to
investigate where the data is stored.
- Love the new categories interface with colors
Frustrations:
- NO MANY-TO-MANY INTERFACE BETWEEN ACCOUNTS AND BUSINES...

Using remote database from computer that hasn't installed BCM
Can I use from my computer that has BCM v.3 beta installed a database that is
stored on another comp that hasn't got BCM installed? Basically, I need to
store my database on another comp (possibly server) that hasn't got BCM
installed. Is that possible, and if it is how is it possible? Thank you all

How to create description field forlinked files in BCM 2007
In respect to BCM in Outlook 2007 and linking files either manually or via
word using BCM tab and the Link button. can you create a field that allows
you to type a description of the attachment. Most documents have a unique
code they are saved as which means nothing to the eye in a history list in
BCM history....

Follow Up Reminders Dont Appear
HI Everyone!
I am using BCM on a peer to peer network and the database is stored on
another computer, not mine.
I recently created follow up flags for a few business contacts with
"Due by" dates and times. When those time came, I received no reminder
or notification. I receive notifications when i set up "follow up"
flags for emails and regualar contacts, just not business contacts.
