How to sort task due data ascending, tasks w/o dates last?
I have a long task list, most tasks don't have due dates. Some do. I want
my tasks listed with the earliest due task on top, followed by the next
earliest (due date ascending sort order), but I also want those tasks w/o
due dates to come after the task with the latest due date. Problem is in
due date ascending order, tasks w/o dates come first before any dated tasks.

Unread mail icon not appearing
Hi
When I get email in, the desktop alert will appear for a few seconds,
telling me I have new email. Now, an icon used to appear in my task bar to
tell me I have unread mail. That no longer appears.
How do I turn it back on?

Outlook 2003 sp2
Recently my Outlook has shown for example 6 messages incoming and then
only 4 or 5 show up. Just now a single message about 85kbs showed as
coming in and it never appeared in any folder "inbox" "Junk" or
"Deleted". Can anyone give me a clue where it would go to or is there
possibly a problem with my ISP?

How do I attach a file as a shortcut?
I constantly send files to my team that they must input data in. It is
helpful to insert the shortcut to the file as opposed to the entire file,
both to save space and allow people access to the "live" file. I used to be
able to do this in my previous version of Outlook, but can't figure out how
to do that now (the only options are to Insert as Text or as an Attachment) .

Mail stuck in outbox
Running Outlook 2003 on XP service pack 2
Sometimes I send an email and it goes to the outbox but immediately the font
in the outbox changes from italics to regular. I can sometimes move it to
the draft folder and resend and it goes correctly, other times it gets stuck
again.
When I do a send/ recieve, it never attempts to send the mail and just
ignores that it's in the outbox.

Sharing calendar and contacts ? Exchange?
I have read up that the only way to share contacts and calendars with
Outlook is to install MS Exchange on on of the computers in our workgroup.
Is this true? Do I have to install MS Exchange, the $1200.00 program, on to
one computer, setting it up as a server, and install Outlook on that
computer also? Does it have to be a special Outlook,i.e. Outlook server?

Receiving Email from Two Seperate Accounts
Hi,
I was able to setup two accounts using Outlook, in order to send and
receive emails from two seperate accounts.
I notice when it comes to sending email, Outlook gives you a pulldown
to choose which account you are sending from.
But, I cannot figure out how to tell Outlook which account I want to
receive email from when I hit "Send/Receive".

Problems with .pst file
I had to reload my system from scratch, so I backed up my old .pst
file, reloaded the system including Office 2003, and then copied my old
..pst file named Outlook.pst to the C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ directory. From here I did
a open data file and chose the Outlook.pst file that I had copied over.

Filtering contacts by field?
I have thousands of entries in my contacts in Outlook 2003 and am wondering
if there is a way to only show me a list of entries whose value for
"categories" are a certain word. E.g. say I have a list of contacts who are
in a lot of industry fields, is there a way to show a list of ONLY those who

Outlook 2003 Hangs Whilst Downloading Messages First Time Each Day
Hello,
Can't remember exactly when this problem started, but it has been going for
several weeks now and it is driving me nuts.
The problem only occurs the first time I turn on my computer each day, and

New one for me. Messages change from READ to UNREAD
This is Outlook 2003 running on Exchange 2003 and this is happening to only
one user.
This users mail changes from read to unread after couple of minutes. We have
disabled the reading pane, removed all rules, and disabled reading pane
options under Tools, Other.
We have run a virus scan
We have checked for spyware/malware with Microsoft anti-spyware and Adaware.

How do you remove Email forwarding highlights?
When an email is forwarded a couple of times or so, sometimes it has a bar
running down the left side, one bar per forward. How can you get rid of

Using Word as E-mail Editor
When I use Word as an E-mail editor in Outlook, with the format set to HTML,
single spacing shows up as double spacing when viewed on web email programs

email doesn't get delivered
I have outlook 2003 and often the emails give all indications of being
sent i.e. going through the outbox to Sent items but never get
delivered. once that happens even tiny emails sent to myself won't get
delivered. Interestingly the Outlook test message works and does get

E-mails stuck in Outbox
Hi,
Some time, some e-mails get stuck in outbox not going out, just sits there
when there is no apparent reason.
I select the e-mail in outbox --> right click--> Options, I see that e-mail
"Save Sent E-mail to" = Unknown
When change this location from unknown to "Sent Items", I can go back and
re-sent these e-mails no problems.

Send email by category - Outlook 2003
I would like to send an email to all of my contacts in a particular
category, but several have multiple email addresses.
I filter my contacts by category, highlight the specific one I want to use
and use "Action" -> New message to contact.

Outlook and AOL
Has anyone seen a situation where - when you're running Outlook and then log
onto AOL, AOL will block Outlook from send/receive. This is an intermittent
situation. Sometimes AOL can run simultaneously with Outlook, sometimes the
two cooperate for thirty minutes then the problem begins, sometimes the
problem starts after five minutes. What do you think?

OOO name different than " normal name" to recipient
I deal with a customer and normally their user info appears correct to
me.
Let's say it's normally " Jane Smith" and "Bill Smith". They are on
vacation and I just received an OOO from each saying that: "
janesmith@123.com" is OOO and will return on Sept 18th. Same thing for

Timestamp question
I received a message from a friend today and it showed a Sent timestamp of
3:22 AM (Sent: Thursday, September 14, 2006 3:22 AM) in the abbreviated
header shown in the Outlook message view. I commented to my friend that she
was crazy to be up so early, she replied that she sent the message about

Meeting Reminder pops up hours late
I'm working with a group of users who are experiencing a very strange
issue, while in the office their meeting reminders pop up late,

Same contact; different company
I have a business contact that moved from one customer to another. I
deleted him from the old and add to the new. O2003 'remembers' the old
email address and every once in a while I sent to his old company. How

Is there a way to import Quickbooks reminders into Outlook Calander or Task list?
I am using Outlook 2003 and Quickbooks Pro 2006. I have numerous
reminders I need to keep up with in Quickbooks and I can't keep it open
all the time, but Outlook is always open. Surely I am not the only
person that has this issue. Does anyone know how to do this? I have
searched the Quickbooks Marketplace for solutions and none yet. I am
about to check their forums.

OK!!!! TR installed - BCM says it "can't run with this suite"
On Vista 5600
ran B2TR over Office and Outlook BCM 2007. when i started, Outlook
stated (two errors at once) that BCM can't run with this Office Suite,
"please reinstall original suite" or something to that effect.
uninstalled and reinstalled BCM - same thing. closed and reopened
Outlook and got no error but got no BCM either...
Beta2 BCM is supposed to run with this, right?
