stop users editing MAPI profile
I need to stop users editing sections of their MAPI profile (Outllok 2003),
i.e, restrict them from changing their 'pre set' rules wizard and sections
in their ''Tools - Options' menu. Is there a way to do this? If so, how?
The reason is that the MAPI profiles are on laptops which need to be very
secure to the user.

problems creating a archive file to archive old emails
Hello everybody
I have enable the option to archive old emails to clean up the inbox
the "big deal" is that before it I change the file name from archive6.pst
(default) to outlook_archive.pst and I run partially the process.
And now when I run the archive option start creating me a archive6 file
(when half of the archiving is already done in the other file)
I notice that they are two...

Problems with email collection in Outlook 2003
A colleague's computer is not collecting emails from her ISP (TalkTalk in
the UK, if it's relevant). She has an old laptop running Outlook 2000,
which is set to leave messages on the server. When she picks up messages
from the old laptop, she gets all the emails, but if she does the same with
the new laptop, she gets nothing.

How to get Address cards to be in order of First name and then last name (and not in "file as" order)?

After persistent errors when downloading new emails,
I have just copied my contacts across into a new PST file.
The problem is that now in "Address Card" view some names
are in "Last name, then first name" order, whereas many other
entries are in "First name then last name" order.
Looking more closely, if there is a comma between the names then
it always shows ...

How to run a rule only during specific time periods?
Hello,
I have a server-based rule which redirects my office e-mail to my
Blackberry. Due to carrier charges, I only want to send messages to it
when I'm out of the office and right now I manually activate/deactivate
the rule when I leave/arrive in the office respectively.
How can I specify in Outlook that the rule should only be run during
certain periods, e.g., from 18:00-08:00 Mon-Fri ...

Rule not matching "from" field
I want to set up a rule that will match words in the "From" field.
Sometimes I get mail like this:
From: bill@somedomain.com [mailer@someotherdomain.com]
I want to match "bill@somedomain.com".
I can't figure out how to match it. I can't pick "from people or
distribution list" because it won't let me match arbitrary email

how to get contacts from Word to outlook
In Word, when I am on an address a smart button appears and when I click on
it there is a dropdown menu which has "add contact" whenever I click on it I
get an error message that says "Word cannot open Outlook or has encountered
difficulties". I already had Outlook open on my computer so I don't know
where the problem lies....

Pic not showing in signature
Hi All,
I have my signature scanned (.JPG format) and i want to include it in my
email signature. But i am unable to figure out that why the signature is not
visible to the recipient. if i insert it in a mail its visible but if i use
the default signature that i created, it doesnt show.

Question about meeting invite tracking
I just learned something new. I thought that when a person accepted my
meeting invite their response would show up on my Tracking tab whether or
not they checked the box saying to send an email with their response...which

Multiple search change calendar view
Hi
Here's my problem :
I go 2 calendar
My view is day/week/month with preview
When I do more than one search with the little search (not advanced) box, go
to another folder then go back to calendar, view is changed to "active
appointements".
How can i prevent this ?

Sudden spam flood for user just back from vacation.
Hi,
I have a colleague who has just returned from an absence of two weeks.
Normally her Outlook 2003 Spam filter does a good job and she doesn't
complain about spam at all.
But yesterday she was flooded with the stuff and I am trying to figure out
why.
I'm not really sure how Outlook deals with spam but I imagine that it has
accesss to blacklists, i.e. remote live lists of spam message...

Signature in a reply message
Hi!
When I reply to a message, I want to include my own signature which is a
nice text with special fonts, colors and logo.
The problem is that the format which is applied to this signature is the
same as the format of the message which was sent to me (plain text for
example).
Is there a way to get the right format for the signature in this special

E-mail encryption using PKI
Hi all,
I have a problem. Problem is that I have somebody sending me an e-mail
using Lotus Notes in plain text. He can send it ok and encrypts and
signs with the correct certificates.
When I try to open it using again the correct certificates it comes up
being jumbled. I am using Exchange 2003 with Outlook 2003 but I am set

How to delete e-mail "fill-in" feature in Outlook 2003
One feature of Outlook that I really like, is when I begin to type in
an email address in the To: box, Outlook offers some choices based on
previous emails. This works really great if ALL the emails are
correct..how do I delete a misspelled email in this list?

Any way to resend meeting invite to only those who didn't reply?
I send out meeting invites often and for each meeting inevitably there are
people who don't reply. Out of a meeting of 15 there will be 3 or 4 that
don't reply. Is there a way to resend out a reminder just to those people?
Currently I have been deleting the non responders from the meeting invite
and then re-adding them and then resending to the those who I have

A bad draft HTML e-mail that crashes Outlook 2003.

I was working on an e-mail reply in HTML format. Now, I can't edit/reply
