Excel 2K on Win XP Pro. If I open Excel first and then a sheet, it works
fine. If I try opening excel sheet from my desktop it takes much more longer
than open excel and then opening same sheet. Any idea?...

USING TEXT AND NUMBERS IN SAME CELL
Hi
I am trying to type in something like 21lb 8oz but also use the decimal
version 21.5 in the same cell as a number,so i can use =sum. I do not need to
see the number 21.5, in fact it would be prefferable not to.
Can anyone help....

create formula. 1 field constant and another field varies by inpu.
need a formula that takes the 1st number from a field that is inputted by me
and multiplies it by 2nd number i input into another field and then divides
by 100. I dont want extra columns to show. I want to put the number in the
field and when i press "enter" key or "tab" key to move to next cell, that
previous field to calculate and insert the answer into that field. example is
as follow...

cannot get color in cells and words
I click on a cell and want to fill the cell with a color so I click on the
little paint bucket on the top right but it does not fill the cell with the
color.
Also if I type words and want to change the color of the words it does not
work after I highlighted the words and click on the A icon.
Any ideas? At work I have no problem doing this.

I've upgraded a desktop from 2000 to 2003, but all office apps refuse to
open new/other documents into seperate windows (so no alt-tab happiness for

UDF not returning proper value - circular reference/multi workbook

How do I get all text to show up and print all of it in cells?
I am using Excel 2003.
In spreadsheet, used for text only (for convenience) I cannot get the cell
to show all the text that is typed. You can see it on the line at the top of
the spreadsheet when you type it but it will not adjust itself to the cell.
One of two things happen, 1) the text is cut off completely but show on the
monitor or it runs on out of the cell.

copy page settings to multiple worksheets in excel?

Why can't I use XML in the Student and Teacher Edition?
Am I missing an Add-in? I can't believe I wasted my money buying this version
of MS Office, when I can't even use it to complete the assignments when XML

How do I change print option defaults?
When printing in Excel (2003, ver 11.6355.6408), I always use the Scaling
option in Page Setup and set it to "Fit To: 1 page wide, x 1 page tall."
Is there a way to make this the default setting for all print jobs?

THE ROW HEIGHT SETTINGS ARE NOT UNIFORM AMONG WORKSHEETS IN MY WORKBOOK AND
