WIERD Excel Problem
Hi ALL
I have this user that says when she opens Excel the only options she
has is to go into File or View. She has no Tools, Help, etc. She has
reinstalled Excel to no avail. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this??

Excel should allow printing of odd or even pages
I'm not sure why it doesn't as this seems like something that would be easy
to implement and helpful to many people.

Is there a way to exclude hidden rows/columns when printing a doc

How can I change the color palette under Cell Shading?
Dear all,
I have recently downloaded some templates from MS website and I noticed some
differences in the color palette for Cell Shading. (FORMAT
CELLS->PATTERNS->COLOR).
Now, the funny thing is I could change my cells to the new color when the
template is loaded. However, when the template is closed, all my existing

how do I change the deafault workbook in Excel?
None of the ways suggested in various manuals work. I've tried to create the
following files in different folders (XLSTART, TEMPLATES, etc.):
- book.xlt and xls
- workbook.xlt and xls
but Excel does not recognise them as a default tepmlate for new workbooks
help please...

Macros copied to new PC won't enable
I have moved a workbook "Reports.xls" created in Excel-97 containing
formatting macros from my PC to another on the network.
That PC has Office 2000 installed..
The macros will not run on the new location, citing "The macros in this
project have been disabled" etc
The Help file suggests this is due to the Security level of the 2000

I have XP professional. My column headings are "named" numeric (i.e. 1, 2,

Can you set to default the # of decimal places in Format Cells?
I keep having to change the Decimal places from 2 to 0, check the "Use 1000
Separator" and select for "Negative numbers" the red with parenthesis
formatting. Is there a way to set these to a default so I don't have to keep
doing it?
There is an option to fix the number of places in Options, but it doesn't
work in this case.

how can i find out which macro is running
I have a workbook created by someone else to analyse exam results.
I have had to add 3 columns to it, but now when i go to the menu button
within the workbook, to change to chart view it doesn't show the last 3
columns on the chart.
I have never used macros before and do not know the author to ask their help.
how can i find out which macro is running, and make it see the extra 3

What's wrong with my Help files?
Excel 2003 on Windows XP, stand-alone computer.
When I open up a help topic, frequently, there is a hyperlink with the label
"See Also".
When I click on that See Also hyperlink, I get an error message,

Prevent "Getting Started" from loading up
Hi
I have Excel 2003 and every time it starts it loads the "Getting Started"
pane on the right which I have to close. Is there anyway to disable this? I
looked in the Getting Started settings but it does not appear they want you o
turn it off.

MS Visual Basic error on Launch
Sorry for sketchy info, but this is a student's laptop not available to me at
the moment;
Office 2003, up to date
WinXP up to date
Dell LT
On launch, XL loads as normal but always produces a small error msgbox
containing "Microsoft Visual Basic" in it's title bar. The content of the
message is simply the number 400 along with the red circle/white X, and

Dear
When I using Excel 97 ( windows 98 perform) access server file, and
standalone open new excel file draft the line , the excel file suddently
