"Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips" check box
The "Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips" check box is missing from the
Tools/Customize/Options/Other dialogue box in Excel. It's available from
the other Office Pro 2003 apps.
Is there something wrong with my installation ?

Password protection
How do I password protect a document on a server so that you have to
enter the password to change the document, but the document can be
viewed without a password?

Changing the default window colour
I have changed my default window colour thru the desktop properties from
white to gray, the problem is when I send an excel file to someone it
shows up on their computer as grey as well and not their default white
colour if I have a chart in the file. To get the file to show up white
in their excel they have to delete the chart.
Anyone know a fix to this problem

Accumulate values
I have column A that contains many account numbers and i have column B which
is a dollar value that corresponds to each account.
A B
10023 $25.00
10024 $20.00
10025 $25.00
10023 $25.00
10026 $25.00
Is it possible to assign cells in column C to sum the amounts which equal
the accounts. For example account 10023 sums up to $50.00 and i would like

Can you print xcel in "newspaper colmn" fashion?
I have a narrow (4 columns) but long (2200 rows) spreadsheet. I am trying to
print in multiple columns on one page (i.e. "newspaper colmns") before it
moves to page 2, etc. I am trying to avoid having 40 pages with one narrow

error while installing Excel 2007 Beta2
I've been using Word and Outlook 2007 Beta2 since MS released it and today
went to install Excel but keep getting an error. The install box keeps
coming up with this dialogue box: "Setup cannot find Pro.WW\ProWW.xml.
Browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK"

Set cell to only accept 1 character
I need to format several cells to only accept one character and then
automatically move to the next cell. Can this be done in Excel 2003? We
have to fill out a spreadsheet and several cells are one character wide but
we have to hit the tab key after each character to get it to move to the next
cell. This is hard when entering 20 or more of these one character cells in
a row....

Shifting the contents of cells
Hi
I am a maths teacher and I want to be able to show how the decimal system
works. For example, take the number 123, I want each digit to be in its own
cell and then when I multiply be ten I want the contents of each cell to

How do I change the settings for language specific punctuation in a document?
In Danish large numbers are written like this 3.234 whereas in English you
write 3,234, the same goes for 3,5 % (DK) vs. 3.5% (ENG)

Adding Rows offsets to working rows across two worksheets
Excel 2003 SP2
I've just setup a spreadsheet that has 2 worksheets, Sheet1 and Sheet2.
I've copied/pasted some data into Sheet1. Now in Sheet2 I parse the data
that's in Sheet1.
Sheet1 contains multiple GROUPS of data that are 23 rows. Hence, rows
A1-A23 are Group 1 and rows A24-A46 are Group 2, rows A47-A69 are Group 3,
etc.

Accounting Format Parentheses
I have Excel 2002 (XP) and want to display negative numbers in parentheses in
ACCOUNTING FORMAT instead of with a minus sign. I know this is possible as a
standard feature (I have done it before on a previous machine) and I think

can we move the sheet tabs in Excel to the top of window?
I've been working on all spreadsheets in Lotus 1-2-3 with all sheet tabs at
the top. Now, we are changing from Lotus to Excel worksheet and would like
to see all sheet tabs at the top, instead of at the bottom. Is it possible

Borders on cells included in formula while editing
Until recently, whenever I edited a formula the cells involved in the
equation were shown with colored borders (as well as in the cell and above).
This function no longer appears to work. Did I accidently turn something off?
I am running Excel 2003. It is an extremely helpful tool when reviewing

Mixed Cell Formatiing
I would like to have a mixed cell format in a single cell, i.e., a label
followed by the results of a formula calculated in the cell. An example

Have Excel display an error rather than rounding # to fit column
Excel can be misleading when it helpfully rounds your numbers to fit the
existing column width. In most instances I would prefer that, for example,
the "##########" indicative of insufficient column width be displayed, rather
than an erroneous (rounded) number.
