stop exel from rounding
hi we have a simple formula to work out employees pay (hourly rate x hours
worked = gross amount) however currently exel is not recognising a 6 as a 6
in the final total eg 520.16 +520.10 should = 1040.26 however it is showing
1040.15
also if .11cents shows it rounds it to 0 and 520.16=520.16 the total shows
1040.11 can someone please help i have not set it up to round up or down...

Reformating a column and getting it to apply
My full problem is that I have a couple txt files that I need to work
with in Excel, however druning the import I can't get a custom format
for a column. Because of this I have to import a column that should
always be a 4 digit class code as text, I would then like to reformat
it to simply be stored as a custom format of the style "0000".

Matching data.
I have two sets of data (2 worksheets)
one set contains a column with 14000 different numbers and a second column
with corresponding values to these numbers.
the second worksheet contains a column of numbers which are some (7000) of
the numbers in the first worksheet.
I need to put the corresponding values from the first worksheet with the
column of numbers in the second worksheet....

formula works when referring to one cell but not to another
I'm sure there is a simple explanation but I can't come up with it. The
following is the formula I am using:
=IF(OR(X2="roll not cut",X2="cut not roll"),"OK to process", " ")
Basically, I am using this with a spreadsheet I receive from another user.

Using a lookup to return multiple values in one cell??
Ok, basically I want to do a lookup to return some figures... I know
all the VLOOKUP, etc... trouble is I don't just want to return one
figure. It may be 1 figure but then it may be about 9/10 as well.
I've got a list of order numbers and a list of orders that need an
invoice date next to them. So I've done a bog standard vlookup and it

Network Drives
I have a number of Excel files on a network server which it is mapped on my
PC as the 'H' drive, however for some users this drive is mapped as their
'K' drive. I have created links to various Access databases for which they
auto update when I open the Excel spreadsheets. However when users (who see

Applying Protection To Multiple Sheets
Is there a quick formula to apply a protection code for multiple sheets
without having to protect each sheet one at a time??
Actually this appears to be quite crazy that you can't protect all
sheets at once..... Hopefully Excel 2007 will allow this. Thnaks

Why Does This Formula Return an Error??
:confused: Hi, what am I doing wrong with the following formula:
=countif(sheet1:sheet31!E6:E35,">=1")
FOR some reason this formula fails when I use the (sheet1:sheet31) with
the column range (E6:E35).
Is it possible to include a multiple sheet count and column range in
the same Formula? Thanks for any helpful responses..

can't change font in work sheet
I down loaded a calendar template from M/S but I want to change the numerical
dates to an other font. I can change the numbers one at the time but I'm not
about to to that to 365 numbers. I tried highlighting a month of numbers and
changing the font but it still reverts back to the same font. I am assuming
there has to be an easy way??

Dates showing are not what I type
I am sorry if this is a stupid question but here goes .
If I type in dates as 010106 it gives me 01/09/27

Retrieve multiple dates, from a week number?
I'm really new to excel and this forum, so please bear with me...
What I'm looking to do, is having one "week-sheet" and one sheet for
every workday, and having each of them updated with their correspondent

Linking Tables between sheets
I want my Excel file to have 2 sheets with 2 tables.
I want the 2nd Sheet’s Table to be LINKED to the 1st (so when I update the
1st, the 2nd auto-updates).
Just FYI, I’m planning to hide some rows/columns on the 2nd sheet, but still

I have found a template in M/S excel download that I would like to use but
how do I change the dates. The current template is dated 11/1/2004

2 cells inside of one
I entered a row into a template sheet. Where there should be 1 cell there is
now 2 cells in one of the rows and when I drag down to auto fill, it is not
allowing to enter. I get the error message "this operation requires the
mergered cells to be identically sized" I have adjusted the hight its the
