how do I figure a 15% projected increase of current quotas?
I have entered a formula which figures a 10% projected increase in current
quotas. Now I am supposed to change it to a 15% projected increase. I
thought if I just changed the number from 1.1 to 1.15 I could get the new
numbers, but it didn't work....

A Problem with Fill Colors
We have a user who needs to fill various cells with a different colors. When
ever the file is opened, the colors change and she needs to reset them to
conform to a predetermined Legend.
What could possibly make the colors change? I am at a loss to explain this
to her or to correct the problem.

default save directory for a templated worksheet
Is there any easy way to automatically have a template save to a particular
location for that template only?
e.g the 'Quotes' template saves to the quote directory

Copying code
New to VBA so ...
I have copied some of the great code from CPearson.com. If I open a new
workbook and add the code to a new module. it works for that workbook (only).
What I want to do is add it to personal.xls so it works in all workbooks. I
can't get this to happen. I add a new module to personal.xls, copy the code
and it doesn't work. Other macros that I have in Personal.xls work...

Automatic/Manual Calculation
Using Excel 2002, I am set to Automatic calculation. One, and only one file
always indicates it requires Manual calculation. I am sure it is something
within the file, but am not sure what to look for. Can someone give me some

using checkmark symbol shows only # not check mark Excel 2003
I am using the Dingbat font. All stars and other symbols are OK, however,
when I use the checkmark, or X symbol it only inserts the a number and not

IF Statement with Date data
Hi
I run Win2k with Excel 2K
I would like to have a formula that looks at a range of dates, then
determines the "latest" date in that range. Then if that "latest" date is
greater than 30 days from the "current" date, display a message "DUE".

fill all cells in row with one cell entry
I have a range of cells and in that range If I enter any type of text/number
I want the rest of the row that cell belongs to, to be blacked out or marked
somehow to show that, that row has an entry in it already. Is this possible.

Can I highlight a cell and link it to another workbook?
I need to highlight one cell and link it to another cell in a different
workbook where I want to enter a text definition of the first cell. I don't
think linking works because that just gives me the same information in a
different cell. I want to be able to click on a cell in one worksheet and be
able to "flip" to its definition in another worksheet.

AUTO SUM
I USED AUTO SUM TO TOTAL SUBSECTIONS OF A COLUMN. THE FIRST 2 SHOWED THE
TOTAL CORRECTLY: THE LAST 2 SHOW "#####" IN THE CELL. IF YOU PRINT THE

How do I disable cookies? Should I routinely try to do this? And all of them?
My present problem is that i cannot open the list of articles on e -reserve
from my school. I can get to the point where all the needed articles are
listed, but once i try to open one, it does not give me the page where i am

Macro - Stop Recording toolbar
I click on tools>macro>record new macro and the record macro dialogue box
appears. According to this link http://tinyurl.com/l6xze, when I finish
inputting the info into the dialogue box and click ok, the Stop Recording
toolbar should appear on the screen. But this is not the case for me. What
settings should I change to allow this to happen?
