Window XP update has caused excel to not operate
I recently allowed an automatic "updates are ready for your computer"
process. After a couple of weeks, I tried to access my excel program it
appears to have been deleted. When I use the desktop icon, it begins an
installation process and then looks for an installation disk (which I don't
have).
Any suggestions?

Setting up templates with formats
I need to set up a template in Excel 2003 that receptionist can access for
entering messages for certain department. I want to be able to set formats
(font, size, style etc.) that no one else can change.

Excel formula needed
Can somebody help me out with this formula that has been driving me mad for
the last week.

I need a formula to put into A1 based on the figures in A2 and A3 so that
A1-A2=A3. A3 and A2 are known but variable amounts.

Excel spreadsheets print too small on the page.
I’m using Excel 2004 for Mac, v 11.1.1. My spreadsheets look normal on
screen, but print very small—covering only 2 inches by 4 inches of the page.
I tried setting the print area to the area I’m using, and adjusting the Page
Set-up to both 100% and Fit to 8 x 11, and neither worked. Can anyone help?

I am interested in creating a field in query based on the values in
existing fields. If the value in field A = 'Y' then insert value in
field B, else do nothing. I get syntax errors, but nothing that is
helpful to correct the 'error'.

Excel file access password
I have excel files that I am selling to clients. I have seen other excel
templates that have features that I need such as: 1) You cannot copy the text
from the screen 2) You need a password to access similar to registration of
new software 3) Allows a 30 day free access then it become unavailable. Does
excel itself have these features or do I need to buy some other software?

Excel Hyperlinks..how to get rid of them
I have a simple excel spreadsheet. My spreadsheet includes Company name ,
contact name , email address.. and sometimes the company website.
After a few weeks of adding companies, I have hyperlinks all over the place,
it is hard to click in any cell anymore , as it will go to the email or a
webpage.
my problem does not stop there, I have a new company that I have added, and

Negative numbers in brackets
I cannot find an option for showing negative numbers in brackets when I go to
Format, cell, number. The only choices I find are either to show with minus
sign or in red. Any suggestions would be welcome....

Just a curiocity.
Google's online Spreadsheet - <www.spreadsheets.google.com>, is the latest
sensation in spreadsheet world. Further I have see few more online
spreadsheet softwares.
DOES Excel of Microsoft has any idea of making their Excel as online
shareable product.

formatting rupees
I need to custom format a cell to read 00,00,000, instead of the usual comma
after three spaces.
This is for an application that uses Rupees, which have a comma break at
1,000, then the next 100, and then another 100. In other words, whereas 10M
would normally print "10,000,000", I need it to print "100,00,000". Further,

Creating a Default Border Style
I am using Excel 2000 and would like to know if it's possible to change the
default border style to the hairline option (the one immediately below the
'none' option in the Format Cells window)? I currently have the border icons
