Shift cells up or down
Hello,
A user brought me a spreadsheet in which the cells had gotten out of
alignment -- that is, the cells in one column had gotten shifted upward so
those cells were no longer in line with the other cells in their row.
I know when deleting cells you can shift the other cells upward or downward,
but how can you select a cell or cells and shift them up or down without
having to do a ...

Hi I need to write a formula that chooses from 3 different values and returns
the one I want it to.
lets say I have 10, 20 & 30 in 3 different cells and the number I want it
to look at is 22.
I want to say that if the number I look for is below 20 return 10, if its
between 20 & 30 I want it to return 20 and if it's above 30 I want it to
return 30.
How would I write this formula...

Can anyone show me how to access the Office Online Help?

Hi,
I have a workbook (excel 2003) that contains many links to other workbooks,
but I don't want the user to update those links. I need to keep the
historical data. Is there a way to prevent a user from updating them?

DELETE ROWS FROM XLS IF THE ROW CONTAINS THE STRING
Hi
I wanted a macro , Which would find a particular string in that row and
then delete that row.
for example in the following example i want to delete all the Rows
which contain the String "aaa","syz"......( I have about 500 words).

i am trying to get a cell to say "week starting (todays date).
so i put in the following formula
="week starting"&" "&TODAY()
however the result was
week starting 38990
any ideas?
and i need it all in the one cell so seperating the text and date is not an
option

Some formulas don't track copies, pastes, fill right, fill down
I have a problem with the new Excel TR2. I have an extensive file that I
update frequently. Some of the formulas in the cells are quite complex. When
I want to do some new stuff, I usually select a column of cells and the next
column to the right, and then hit ctrl-r to copy right.
In the past with Office 2007, this has worked just as I expected; i.e.

Excel 2007 beta 2 - Row Height/Column Width suggestions
I'm pleased to see I can now display more than 1023 characters, and that
autofit works with large contents, but it would be nice if individual
rows/columns had user definable max/min heights/widths - with options to
interactively expand/contract as necessary.

I like the improvements to Conditional Formatting (CF), especially the
removal of the 3 rule limit and the ability to re-order the rules (new

can anybody in the community please tell me what is this square bracket with

Lookup Value in an External Spreadsheet

Arrow keys are no longer working correctly
My arrow keys are no longer working. For example, in Excel, if I press the
right arrow and I am in column B, Row 1-it takes me to Column A, Row 2, not
Column A, Row 1. My daughter has not been able to play video games recently
because the arrows are taking her in the wrong direction. This happens with

How do I put a check box in each row of a column
I want to create check boxes for each row in a column. I was wondering if
there is a way to relate the check box to one cell and maybe drag the bottom
right corner down and have it copy down the row. Is there a way to do this or

While I can designate the different size the each sheet calls for (one
