how give excel cell red color if value above range?
Hi all.
I'd like to know how I can affect a color (especially rad) to some Excel box
if the value, coming from a formula) is out of a certain range?
Ex: if my %error is comprised between -5% and + 5%, then no color but if it
is out of this range, then teh cell would appear RED...

select only used rows and only visible cells
I've used the following macro by Frank Kabel to select only usedrows
but as I'm dealing with subtotals (level 2 so only the subtotals
themselves are visible) I only want to copy the visible rows. How do I
go about doing that?
Before the Copy command I've specified -
Selection.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible).Select - but it still copies
all the used rows not the visible cells only

Cannot save or export XML data??
When I tried to export a range to XML in excel 2003, it pops out an
error message:
Cannot save or export XML data. The XML maps in this workbook are not
exportable.
I tried to verify the schema, it turns out:
xxx_Map is not exportable because it contains the following:
.. List of lists
.. A mapped element's relationship with other elements cannot be
preserved

Excel not opening properly
I apologize if I posted this before. I know I did in Access, but I meant to
post in Excel.
Been having computer problems - found worms and trojans and still in the
process of recovering my computer settings.
Excel won't open properly. When I click on an Excel file, the program
"opens", but the file does not. I have to go to file, open, and find the

Variance
Hi, I would like to get a waring in a ell that if one cell has a higer OR
lower value than another specific cell (decided by me).
I want to use percent to specify the variance. If cell A1 differs up OR down
from cell A2 with more than 20% I want it to return lets say a "!".

Screen "Flashing" on Window change
A couple of days ago I made a change somewhere and now I can't remember
where. (I gotta learn to write this stuff down.)
When I have more than one workbook open, and change the window, I'm getting
a "power-point" like effect where the new window seems to be expanding from

Not possible to save as xml
Hi
We have an odd problem here.
Almost all users in the network can save exceldocuments as xml spreadsheets.
But for some users the option save as type "xml spreadsheet(*.xml) is
missing in the listbox when opening the save as dialog.
We have tested to reinstall the officeapp but the problem remains.
If a user A that can save as xml log on to the computer of user B that
cannot save...

physical inventory sampling
I need an excel formaula that gives me the sample size required to verifify
the accuracy of our total inventory at a 95% confidence level. In other
words, if I check 'x' parts out of 2000 parts, and find these parts are 95%
accurate, can I make this assumption about the rest of the inventory? We

How can I hold every other row color on a sheet when I sort
I am trying to run a roll sheet and to help read it I made every other line
light green.
The problem comes when I sort the line color goes with the data entered so I
lose my every other line color. Is there a way around that? I have tried
the format sheet option and come up with the same problem...

ISO smallest passive / do nothing formula for formatting null..
just trying to make header lines with top / bottom lines. Problem with
conditional formatting for "not" needing any result in a formula, that might
corupt / take space.. etc. would use something like =CELL() if that were
valid.

Conversion Ratio
I used the ffollowing to get the conversion ratio format I wanted

Hyperlinks to .msg files
When I we create a hyperlink to a .msg document (which was created in
Windows 2000) on the network , the error message 'cannot open specified file"
is displayed.
I am using a Windows XP machine and I believe the same problem occurs for
Windows 2000 users when trying to open hyperlinks to Outlook messages from my
