Worksheets Don't Properly Send When Emailing
At first, when I tried to email worksheets directly from Excel, they sent
just fine. Then, only a line or two would send. Now, nothing sends at all.
(As in, recipients email me back asking where the data is.) My coworker is
also having this problem. We don't mind simply attaching the spreadsheet via
a new mail message, but emailing directly from Excel was convenient. What

Format Painter Question
This is a follow-up to a previous question; How to turn off the "automatic"

consolidate data
Hi,
I have three workbooks that have identical structures or formats. I wanted
to summary to data from them into another workbook.
Ex: I would like to sum [Monder.xls] sheet1!C5 +[Teacher.xls]
sheet1!C5+[Student.xls] sheet1!C5 into [Total.xls] sheet1!C5.
Actuality, I would like to sum the value of C5 of Monder, Teacher and

Merged Cells in Worksheet, Test for

Simple way to test for existence of any merged cells in worksheet.
Must it be a cell by cell evaluation OR [Each myCell in myRange]
is there a "merged state" that is reflected on a Sheet basis?

How do I stop sharing violation errors in Excel 2003 - file NOT sh
Suddenly, EVERY spreadsheet I open and work on can NOT be saved without
getting an error message "Your changes could not be saved to '{file
name.xls}' because of a sharing violation. Try saving to a different file."
If I do that, it saves to a file such a C867893 or something like that

Macro prompt
Hi,
I have a macro that creates a new worksheet, deletes 2 tabs, then closes the
worksheet.
When I run the macro there are 2 prompts,
1-do you want to delete the sheets
2-do you want to save the worksheet.
Is there a way to turn this off so the macro runs more smoothly?

An if question
Hi I have in a row 3 different values that I want to compare with a specific
value on the same row. It looks like below
A B C D
10 20 30 22
If D is higher than B I want it to return B if is lower I want it to return
A. So far so good, this I can do but if it looks like below and b & c are
empty, I cant get it to return, A it just returna a blank.

Excel workbook is corrupted, workbook automatically saves on start
Hi Guys,
I have a group of users whos speadsheets seem to get corrupted quite often.
The offending sheets cannot be opened in excel, it hangs at the start of
opening the file,cpu goes upto 100% and just sits there almost like its in a
loop.
The file can be opened in excel viewer. I notice that the workbook also
changes the modified date in explorer as soon as its opened? If I use any...

Password a Macro so certain users can press it
I have a cell on my worksheet which is protected via the usual password
protect worsheet thing. However, i want to allow one person to write in
this cell my pressing a macro which allows him to do this, then lock

How do I turn off the automatic Format Painter?
This stupid little "PaintBrush" keeps popping up and blocking the cells I am
trying to work with.
It is more annoying than the "automatic" mulitple copy clipboard because it
actually sits on top of what I am working with, blocking it from my view.
How do I turn it OFF???

Shared File Doesn't Always Save
There is a shared Excel file on the network that doesn't always save.
Sometimes it does but other times (without warning) changes are not saved.
Have tried using save, save as and the save icon. Same results with all -
and never an error message. This is on a Thin Client Windows 2000 network,
Office 2000....

Excel Macro Security Failing
winXPsp2, Office2003 sp2. When opening excel spreadsheets via EXPLORER, if
macros security is set to medium, when a second ss is opened it does not give
the macro dialog. When the macros are run on the spreadsheet a warning

Bulk change cells to Array Formula
I have a sheet with several hundred cells which are filled with array
forumlas. The problem is that none of the formulas have been entered
by using CRTL-SHIFT-ENTER. Does anyone know of a VBA function which
can be used to set all of these cells to Array forumlas?

Formatting a formula within a cell
I am trying to use a formula and text within the same cell but I want the
value of the formula to have a currency format. Can this be done?
I have even tried to use a separate sell to calculate the formula to give me
a currency value and then input the value of the cell into the text/formula
cell and that doesn't work.
Example: I want the cell to read:
$.50 per 3 ounces $.60 ...

How do I turn off clipboard permanently?
I am also having trouble turning off the clipboard. I have done exactly what
the reply to the previous post suggests and I have do it repeatedly as it
turns itself back on when I log off or restart the computer. How do I get it

Minimize the size of a file that contains multiple Pivot Tables
I have an excel file with 4 tabs that each contain a Pivot Table using the

Hi,
I want to run a macro when the workbook is opened.
I am assuming that there is an "Open workbook" event and you can insert some
code there. Does anyone know how to do this? I just want to go to a certain
"tab"/worksheet? when the user opens the workbook.
