Named ranges with dependencies
I've started converting some charts I have whose data gets
updated very frequently so that the charts update their
data ranges automatically. For example, there is a
method outlined here:

That uses the "Name" feature (Insert / Name / Define)
to set up ranges that rely on COUNTA to see how long
the range is. Cool.

Date format
I have list of Date and time in the column,
but I need Date only , not date and time,
I was try to use format sell , but it just hiding time but not deleting it.
Is any way I can separate date and time and delete time in 1 shot ?

Macros or the Fastest way to Autofill Rows
I need a macros to autofill rows. I am working on one now but have a few
problems. I have one spreadsheet that has a row for each employee for each
payperiod. It has the employee name, check number, date, hours worked,

Named ranges interfere with simple formulas
I am my own worst enemy. I created a macro that utilizes named ranges when
it creates spreadsheets. If my users want to create their own formula and
inadvertently use my named range, the results are incorrect.
A simple formula they'd put in such as =d3/c3, becomes =d3/RoysNamedRange.
of course, when they copy this formula down a column, =d4/RoysNamedRange is
not a relative reference ...

Breaking Links
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to break links in Excel such that it
does not retain the data that is currently in that cell. What I am
trying to do is set up a summary sheet that links multiple different
workbooks (around 20 or so), however I want the associated linked data
to become "NA" or someother irrelevant value if I delete 1 of the

if i create a formula linked to another file and i need to save this to
another folder and deleting the original source where i link the file is

Filters and totals
I have a sheet with data that includes totals in the bottom row.
I would like to be able to invoke automatic filtering such that
the totals change dynamically to cover only the visible rows.
I can't figure out any reasonably easy ways to do this. Folks?
A second question: how can I create filters that include my Totals

Splitting Numbers Into Different Columns

I have a small problem which I can partly solve but not fully. The scenario

Problem trying to generate a report with a formula
Hi all,
I'm trying to generate a report and am having trouble with the formula.

How to show date printed, updated only when worksheet printed?
I have a timesheet spreadsheet with worksheets for each day. I want the date
that a specific worksheet (e.g., Tuesday) is printed and don't want that date
to change on the worksheet until/unless that specific worksheet is printed
again. Each worksheet could/should have a different print date. Using

Always enter number as a decimal <1
I want to be able to enter an integer into a cell and have it
automatically displayed and perceived by excel as a decimal less than
1.
In other words, if I enter "456" into the cell, I want it to display as

Very annoying prob with the Office / Excel "Beta 2 Technical Refre
I had been running the Beta 2 of Office no problem. When I installed the
Technical Refresh, I now have a problem where Excel will not open any Excel
files. Each time I get a dialogue box indicating that Excel can't open the
doc b/c my virus software is not up-to-date or b/c there is a virus. There
isn't - and I've checked and updated my AV software. Excel will open NO
