answer to odd results when comparing hyperlink addresses
I have written a VBA macro to check certain spreadsheets for valid syntax.
Certain cells are supposed to have hyperlinks, whose addresses are related to
the value of the cell, which in the case of cells with hyperlinks is also the
TextToDisplay value. I am currently adding a check for the hyperlinks.

Help with linking
I am using excel 2003. I have been asked to help create a March
Madness excel worksheet to track our company pool. I would like to
have a master file and a Template file to send out to my fellow

Linking Sheets
I have 3 sheets which I am constantly adding to and then sorting in date
order as cars are rented- they have the same headings but different car
types. Is there a way of linking all 3 sheets into a single a sheet which
would then be sorted in date order.

Formt of Linked cell
Hi I have links in the cells of one worksheet to cells in another worksheet.

Excel Links Update
I have a problem getting my workbooks to update with the most recent
data. For example, workbook A passes data to workbook B, B then passes
data to workbook C. If data is updated in workbook A, workbook C does
not update until workbook B is opened and saved first.
In Office 97 I could open workbook C and the data would update without

Excel Links Problems
My office recently upgraded from Office 97 to 2003. Since doing so our
linked Excel Workbooks have been getting a #REF error when opened. I have
now re-established the links between workbooks (19 in all) and we no longer

hyperlink base did not save
Using Excel 2003, when we create a new spreadsheet, if we specify the
hyperlink base, it is not saved when the files is closed.
However, we have some files that do save the hyperlink base. They might
have been saved with another version of Excel, I don't know. If these files
are copied or saved-as, the copies also work. On the files that work, the

Change Source / Update Now buttons not available
My problem is that I want to change the source workbook but the Change
source button is not available? The source file updates weekly (one for
Monday, tuesday, etc). Before these files are updated, they are archived
to a different folder but all under the same name (i.e. MON TUE WED
etc.). I want my formulas to compute using the archived files but the

I can view links, but can't delete them
I have an Excel spreadsheet with links to several Excel spreadsheets that
have been deleted. I can view the links by clicking on Edit and Links, but
there is no option to delete them, only update now, open source, and change
source. Any ideas on how I can delete all my links?...

Change links on moving to CD or another computer
I have a large number of Excel files with links to some common data
files all held in teh same directory.
How do I copy these to a CD in a way that changes the directory
references to reflect the new directory they are in - either on the CD
or when copied to another computer.

Linking multiple files

can't change field name in query?
I'm using Microsoft Query to bring in some data. I have the query in SQL so i

Linking multiple cells efficiently
I have Excel 2002 and would like to link 2 columns across 2 workbooks. I
know how to link the cells across workbooks one at a time, but I am wondering
if there is way to link columns at time. for example:

Creating ODBC link within SELECT statement
Is this possible. To explain myself, here is my situation. I created an
Excel Spreadsheet that uses an ODBC link to a SQL database. In order for
anyone to use this file on their PC, that same ODBC link must be setup. Is

worksheet size limit
Why are the cells limited to 256 columns and 65,536 rows? Once a format is
set and then you realize its limits, its too late and too cumbersome to
reorganize the sheets. Are there any future restructuring of these limits to
a more even distrubution of rows and columns (30,000 X 30,000) by Microsoft?

Cell display
I created a workbook that has a summary page with cells that link to cells in
other pages of the workbook. These cells are in date format. When there is
no entry in the cells of the other pages, the summary page cell shows
1/01/1900. I would like the cell on the summary page to be blank if the
linked cell is blank. Does anyone know how to do this?
