function error?
Here I find one thing I can't explain, i use vlookup to find numbers and
compare them, say cell1=VLOOKUP(R263,FR30BUD,2), and
cell2=VLOOKUP(R263,SVC30Mlti,2), where the FR30BUD and SVC30Mlti are names of
ranges. then I use "=cell1>cell2" in cell3, the strange thing is even if
cell1 is less than cell2, I still get "true". the value in these ranges are
all numbers.

CountIF function in Excel 2007 beta 1 tr 1
Hi,
I have noticed that the countif function in excel 2007 beta 2 tr1 (have not
tried this in the old beta) only matches on the first 14 chars of a string (a
unexpected result). I observed the error when I tried to count based on a 16
char long string.
Have anybody else observed this?

error opening spreadsheet from windows explorer
When I try to open a spreadsheet, example Transfer Log.xls, I get the error
message, F:\Docs\Andy\Excel.xls cannot be found & to check the spelling of
the name & verify tat the location is correct. When I click OK, I get another
error message saying that it cannot find 'Docs\Transfer.xls. When I click OK
on that error, I get yet another error message saying the same thing except
it can't find...

Links will not update when sheet number exceeds ~12.

I've written macros to create several sheets that are linked to each other.
I intend for the final resulting workbook to contain about 60 sheets. This
workbook has one main page, and three different sheets that are repeated

how to fix highlight function sticking
My curser sticks when high lighting an area and will not release. As I move
the curser, the hight lighted area moves with the curser. I have to close the
program via ctrl-alt-del. Currently I cannot open a file without this
occuring....

Allow Excel to receive copy/paste from rumba and not reformat cell
In Excel 2003, when I copy/paste numbers (16-digit) from Rumba to cells the
copied data reformats the cell from Text Format and rounds down my numbers.
This did not used to be a problem. Because we are a credit card company we
copy and paste lots of 16-digit numbers. I am not sure if the length has
anything to do with the problem.

formatting numbers
I have try to format a number ex. 1.000,00 or 10.000,00, but cannot get it.
When i try so separat it in thusund with two digits, I only get "100.0.00"
or "10000.0.00".
What can I do to get this to display correctly ??...

Excel Date reads the days as the year. Whats wrong?
For some strange reason, when i type in the date to be automatically
formatted in the chosen format (mmm dd/yyyy) the output puts the day as the
last 2 digits of the year and the day is always the first of the month - ie
"sept 28" reads Sep 1/2028. What is wrong here?...

in-cell drop-down arrow button disappeared
i have data validation lists in many cells (a whole column of cells with the
same list) and for some reason, when i select one of these cells, the
drop-down arrow button no longer appears. i don't know how this happened, but
it is very annoying to have to right click and select 'pick from drop down
list' every time instead of clicking the arrow button.
can anyone PLEASE tell me what hap...

Excel is showing US instead of UK dates
All the settings on the servers are UK/English yet short dates in Excel are
showing US format.
We are using Windows 2003 servers running Office 2000 and all sessions are
via Terminal Services.
I have also checked all the local settings of the PC's (and Wyse terminals)
which are all showing UK/English.
Help or suggestions will be gratefully recieved.

Data validation won't take. I enter it, hit ok. It ignores me.
The sheet is not protected. Name shows up in defined names list and
selecting it in the upper left pulldown takes me to the right area. The name
isn't the problem. The cells just refuse to take the data validation no
matter what I try. The strangest part is that everything used to work just
fine other than the in-cell pulldown font being like size 4. Wouldn't mind
some advice on tha...

Cant Send Tracking Status - Error Message
Greetings.
I am trying to help my boss. He got an error when he was trying to continue
a route of a spreadsheet that was routed to him in excel 2002. The
spreadsheet was sent (routed) but the Track Status email did not send - he
got an error "Cant send tracking status". Any ideas?

RECALCULATION won't stay set to automatic
For some reason the recalculation setting
TOOLS
OPTIONS
CALCULATION
AUTOMATIC
will not stay set to automatic. This started about a week ago. Our system is
updated at night by the IT people and they have no idea why this has happened.
Is there a way to set a UNIVERSAL setting for recalculation?...

Excel won't open
Excel only flashes up when trying to open it. Double-clicking a file gets
the following message: Cannot find the file "filename" (or one of its
components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all
required libraries are available.
Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Office 2003 SP2
All other office applications are running correctly.

Excel "There was a problem displaying the attributions...."
When I try to update my stock quotes, I get the following error:
"There was a problem displaying the attributions. The quotes have not been
updated." This is only happening in one of my spreadsheets, and I can find
no error in the formulas. Any ideas?

Excel doesn't work like MS says it does.
The help page says click on the word you want to edit in the cell ytou want
to edit.
I click left W on Whether and the whole freakin cell goes blank. I try
different ways but nothing works. So all I want to do is wrap to the next
line because row height doesn't chance crap.
So I hit enter just like the instruction instruct to do.
Bam gone. the whole friggin row. can't undo it, can't redo ...

Unable to Open any Office application
After receiving hung apps for the browser, I am now unable to open any office
application. I get the error message unable to open because of not enough
disk space or other programs running. There is nothing else open on the
computer and I have 209 GB of free space. the Task manager shows CPU usage
at 3% now what?...

Copy Tab function not working

Problem when upgraded Excel from 2000 to 2003
Hi there, folks. I have 3 excel worksheets. Let's call them 1.xls, 2.xls and
3.xls. 1 is full of data, 2 uses 1 to fill out its data, and 3 uses 2 to fill
out its data. Let's focus on 1 and 2's "relationship". When I was using Excel

Copying formulas in Excel 2007 Beta
When you copy a row with non-fixed cell references (without the «$» sign),
Excel doesn't paste with the correct references, but maintains excactly the
same formula, referring to the same cells of the original one. Is there any
patch or alike to correct this?
It doesn't seem to be a configuration issue, 'cause I've looked up in almost
