Sum & report contents of table containing text values?
Can excel summate and report in charts text information recorded in a single
table. EG Columns entitled Hair, Eyes, Height with values blue brown green
auburn blond dark tall short medium. etc

hide formulas but can edit on the same cells
Hello,
How to I hide and lock the formulas that appear on A1 to A10 let's say,
without locking them? I need to be able to copy and paste the results so I
need to be able to click on them. I also need to share the document, but do
not want people to see the password nor manipulate them.

The vertical title on every chart I make is cut off.
I cannot read the end of my vertical title in excel. My computer is the only
one I know of with this problem. "Fundamental Entropy" looks like
"Fundamental Entr" with half of the "o" visible. If I place a character
several spaces over, I can see the entire word. This occurs on the y-axis of
every excel graph I open on my machine and I am sick of it....

Fill Chart Automatically
Is it posibble for Excel 2003 to have the column or xy scatter chart be
filled with a pattern based on what word is inserted? I have tried using
conditional formating but there is no way of using it.

How do I enter cell data in a footer
I'd like to enter a sum total from a cell into a footer on a chart to show
how many reponses there were to a feedback questionaire, that is assuming

excel graphs are locked up; no dragging or additional data entry a
my excell graphs have locked up and do not permit additional data entry or
dragging. i note the file extension now has -group- next to it where it just
contained file name only before today. must have hit wrong button but can't
figure out what i have done. want to unlock graphs. thanks...

chart based on data ranges
Hi,
Given a table as follows:
a b
2000 5000/6000 3500/4500
2001 5000/6000 4000/4500
2003 6000/7000 5000/6000
2004 8000/9000 5000/5500
Data are "data ranges" instead of data
(e.g. a ranging from 5000 to 6000 in year 2000).
Guess the ranges have to split out over 2 cells per cell? Or is it possible
to make a graph straight from these data?

Charting Time formats
I am trying to chart some times in a bar chart the first column lists 3 queue
types in a benefit office to be used as the legend. The second column has a
times listed against the 3 queues formatted into hours and minutes. When I
try to create a bar chart based on this simple data, the chart wizard does
not pick up the data of the series so shows a blank chart.
Any ideas?...

Bug! Error Bars Inherited from Another Workbook - Any Fix?

Eliminating forecast on trendlines
Everytime I create a trendline in Excel 2000 the trendline is forecast about
ten additional data points to the right.
I do not want this (i.e., I don't want any forecast in the trendlines) but
when I go to the "format trendline" dialogue box and select options, the area
governing forecasting is greyed out.
If accessing this portion of the dialogue box is the way to eliminate the
forecast...

Color Defaults, Package Resets & Downloads
I'm not a big fan of Excel's default chart colors. I can change them one by
one as needed & experiment w/ what looks best, but are there any downloads
that would allow me to conveniently reset the colors in one fell swoop?

text box positioning, printing and between loads
I have created layered text boxes in order to create linked words in a
paragraph - layering the same linked text in it's own text box on top
of the unlinked text creates the illusion of a hyperlink without having
to link all the text in the cell or textbox.
The problem is twofold:
1) the text boxes don't maintain their position relative to each other

I have data in 2 columns that need to go on the X and Y axes =- example:

Charting non-sequential cells
I am attempting to generate dynamic column charts based on grouped data in a
separate sheet. The user selects the data, and after putting the sheet
together, the chart needs to graph This Year and Last Year as separate
series, but use only Country, Region, and Unit, no sub-Unit

How to draw a line on a chart, and have it move with the chart?
I am able to draw simple, colored lines on a chart, but when I move the
chart, as I do every week to accomodate new data on the page, the lines stay
where they were originally drawn. In other words, the lines seem attached to
the undelying worksheet, not to the chart itself. Is there a way to draw
lines that are attached to the chart?
