Count with difficult/multiple citeria
Hi,
I have a complicated question for help. I hope that I make it sound ok.
First thing to remember is that this sheet is linked to another, which
is in-turn link to another...ive been filtering data!
so what i have is:
>From B3:B200 a list of brands
>From column F2 to to Z2 I have a list of shop names and then their respective sales in F3:Z200

Changing data from imported .txt file
When i import data from an old (dos based) program negative numbers appear
with the minus behind the number. Does anyone have any idea how i can change
them all from 1,234.56- to -1,234.56 so Excel will recognise them? Changing
them by hand takes forever. Thank you....

import csv from clipboard
hi,
most of the time i get the csv file inlined into my mail instead of
attached.
so i would like to copy and paste/import the csv data into excel, instead of
* opening a text editor
* pasting from clipboard
* saving as .csv file
* opening it with excel

cell format problems - losing leading zeros in numbers
Hi,
Using Excel 2002.
I am having trouble finding the right cell format to paste a number into
that I get off of normal html web page.
The problem is that I lose the leading zeros
The number may be like this 0083045
so I cut and then past and what I get is 83045
I have tried many cell formatting styles and it doesn't work.

CountIF function with two Criterium
Greetings -
Is there anyway to make create a COUNTIF function with two different
criterium (i.e. >100 and <=499.99, etc)?
If not, can someone direct me to a function that can assist me in
counting cells that have data with two or more criterium?

Control button font is ugly - Why?
I set up a worksheet on one computer, and it looks fine. Yet when the
workbook is loaded onto another computer (just built and set up), the
Arial font on control buttons looks awful. Here are links to two

Floating Graphs
Is it possible in Excel, to have a chart "floating" on a sheet, ie. as I
scroll across or up and down the data on the sheet, to have the chart remain
in the same place on the screen.

Print Preview Problem
I am using Excel 2003 on my week-old computer and am running into a
strange problem with the print preview function.
When I click on print preview, the print dialog box pops up as if I had
clicked "File", then "Print". If I then click on the "preview" button
on the bottom left, or click "okay", it will take me to the normal

Using english function names Excel with German user interface
Hi!
For some stupid reason, MS decided that a (e.g.) German version of Excel
should not only have a German user interface (Menus, Online-Manuals/Help),
but German function names as well. As I am used to use english function
names, I am lost...
Is there any way to get my German Excel to display functions with their
english names?

Ask Excel not to change cell format to auto wrap after using alt+e
Hi,
Everybody knows that when you've a line return (inserted using ALT+ENTER) in
a cell, Excel will change the cell format to "wrap" and adjust line height
consequently.
Now I would like to find a way to prevent Excel from reformating the cell
once I press Enter to validate my input.
Can anybody help ?

Need help with Formula
I am trying to create a formula to create two possible outcomes.
in simplistic terms if a cell has a + number to show result as FOC if a
negative result to display it as a positive number *1.175.
So +£25 = FOC
or -£25 = +£25

Cells (some) being Greyed In: How To Remove Grey ?
Hello,
Using Excel 97.
Some of the cells, but not all, are greyed in (cell background, I guess
you'd term it).
Don't know how it happened, but don't want it this way.
How can I get all the cells to have the normal white background (with black
text) ?

command buttons not showing with projector
Hi,
I had a complaint from a client that the command buttons we created do
not show when he tried to demonstrate the Excel application using a
projector (i.e. like InFocus) . He could see them on his laptop screen
and they worked but they did now show on the projector screen.
He is using Excel 2002.
Anyone see this happen?

not the usual "A document with name _____.xls" problem
I have a Word document that has links to an Excel spreadsheet. When I
open the Word document and tell it to update the links, I get the "A
document with the name _____.xls is already open" error message.
It only happens with this one Excel workbook, and only when I open the
Word document and ask it to update the links.

Chart in Excel
Is it possible to convert a Chart in Excel so that it is "fixed", ie. still
looks the same, but is no longer connected to the source data ? I know that
I could save it as a jpg, and then insert it as a picture, but is there a
way to do it more directly.

Conditional formatting of lines on charts?

Excel integration of models in various workbooks
I have a few different models in seperate excel workbooks ... one for
