Huge File Size
I have a problem, I have a 18 sheets, all of which are linked via an ODBC to
SQL to pull in data, I thought that this was a good idea, now that it's done,
my file is 42 MG, any suggestions on how to shrink it while leaving the
links?
I have a work around, just dont' want to lose my mornings work.

Average numbers from a lookup function
I need to find the average GPA's from the Lookup function where I type in the
letter grade and lookup changes it to the gpa number, but then I need to
find the average...how do I do that? Bob from nowhere, help me again.....

Taking out domain names out of e-mail addresses
Hello,
In Excel I have a column with a few e-mail addresses. And I was wondering
if it's possible to take the domain name out of the e-mail address and put
them in the column next to it?

Transpose columns into rows
Hi, I have some data in a table in columns which I need to convert into
rows. This is specification data for some tools etc. The data is currently
in the following format:
Product No, order, description, value
1000, 1, model No, Ak272
1000, 2, Size, 10mm
1000, 3, Length, 20mm
1001, 1, Model No, Ak273
1001, 2, Size, 25mm

file sharing
Hello there!
On a Microsoft 2003 domain network, I have two users who are working with
the same excel file shared on a departmental folder.
When one user has the file opened and another tries to open it, normally the
second user receives a warning saying "you only have read access because
'domain\so_and_so' has locked the file".

Hide "Introduction" field in Excel 2003
Hi all,
I am wondering if it is possible to hide the "introduction" and "Cc..."
fields when I go to File / Sent to... / Mail Recipient
The problem is that I created a form in Excel that needs to be e-mailed, and
if I could save the space of those two fields, I could be able to see the
whole form without having to use the scroll bar.

ALERT Pop up Box
Hi All
I am running a macro that calculates and produces several workbooks for
a number of people. What I would like to do is have a pop up box appear
on each of their computers just before the macro is ran to ask them to
"Get out of their workbooks as the macro is about to be ran".

Inserting a column of date automatically
Hi,
I want to chart some data on a daily basis and I started a worksheet to do
this. The first column will show the date.
Rather than enter the date every day, I am hoping there is a way to
automatically have the date inserted into each cell in the first column,
each cell being one day.

A lot of Text Boxes!
Hello all,
I got a problem on my excel files. Hope you may help.
I don't know why, many of my excel files have a huge number of Text
Boxes. It's over 50,000 and they're all empty. As a result, it slows down
my computer. Whenever I edit the files, it takes more than 10 seconds to
move one cell to another. So, I can't do anything on them anymore.

Formatting a number in a cell with text and number
I have a cell with the following entered in it:
="Daily Average = "&E2
The value of E2 diplays with all the decimal points showing. I need to
format the value of E2 to display with no decimal points showing, such
as 4532 instead of 4532.23764....
Can I specify the format to be used in the cell equaion?

Formula request
I am trying to set up a formula each time the data changes in column A
without having to do it manually.
The formula would be using two other columns of data for the rows involved

Formatting decimal numbers as time - no conversion to time
I have a timesheet that's used for payroll purposes. The sheet is about as
simple as it can get.
I would like to be able to enter the time worked for XXXXXX as a decimal
number and have it display as hours and minutes. For example:
4.5 hours would display as 4:30
2.1 hours would display as 2:06

is it possible to show a cell value using IF(AND function
I would like to show the value of Cell A1 in Cell A3 , what do I need to
replace "=A1" portion of formula
The cell format is set for numbers and there is also some conditional
formating

Fun trying to convert xls to document everyone can open!
I have Office 2003 and created spreadsheet for class schedule that I could
use formulas, hide columns, etc. Excel seemed to have more advantages over
keeping it in MS Word. However, not everyone has Excel so I have had fun

Populate a cell based on adjacent cell
I have a worksheet that contains outgoing call data. The first column
is the Group Number column, so each record begins with this group
number.
I've inserted a column to the left of the Group Number column. I want
to populate it with a textual Group Name based on that the number in
the adjacent cell.

Deleting or cancelling large amount of data in excel
Got the following problem apparently easy but it's driving me crazy.
I've a large file (c40mb) containing large matrices full of datas and
formulas (ie thousands of rows / approx 100 columns)
Whenever I try to delete the content (or clear content) of one of this
large matrices excel takes ages to do it.

sorting data to obtain a fixed amount
Please help!! I have numbers in a row of cells and I would like to have a
formula to sort the data to give me a fixed total... (like which cells would
equal x) i don't know which of the cells make up that total... can excel tell

Conditional Formatting for a certain month
Having a bit of an issue at the moment, ive got the Cell for instance
A1
Which contains
04-Jan-06
Basically Im after some conditional formatting to say if the month is
January, then make the cell blue.
Which will then lead to me making the other cells different colours
depending on their month, but again, it has to be in this format
(DD-MM-YY)

I have a function which does the following:
1. Remove .xls from the file and use reminder as a wild card by
additing * at both the ends
2. Query the directory (source path) for the wild card
3. Check the data stamp on each file matching the card
4. Pick up the latest file
I now need the function to only process a file the last modified date
is less than 15days old. How can I do this?

Inputting a US map into Excel?
I gotta quick question:
Has anyone ever tried to input a dynamic/auto-updated US map into
Excel? Let's say I have a database which includes a column called
"state" and a column called "count", which has integer values counting
something.
My question is, I would like a US Map with the "count" displayed for,
let's say, 10 states (of my choosing). Is there a way to do this?

VBA combobox rowsource
HI all.
I write vba code for combo box.
formCombo.CmbDate.RowSource = "SELECT DISTINCT pp FROM SS ORDER BY
pp;"
but it doesn't work!
In here, pp is the column name and SS is sheet name. Is it wrong? I put
this code in "UserForm_Initialize"
And there's error on "formCombo.Show"
