Duplicate cells
I have a large spreadsheet consisting of about 16,000 rows and 8 columns.
The first columns are longitude and latitude coordinates. Is there a way to
sort and display the rows where both the values in columns A and B are the
same? I have sorted on A then B but sometimes places have exactly the same
longitude but very different latitudes. I'm just trying to eliminate the
necessity of g...

fill column with pattern of information
Hello,
I'm trying to fill in a single column in a worksheet with warehouse
locations as follows:
01AA01AA01
01AA01AA02
through:
01AA01AA99
then starting the same pattern with:
01AA01AB01
and so on to the last row in the column (3500 rows)
These locations are all in order starting with the first row of
information in the spreadsheet. Is there an easy way to get Excel to
recognize...

Pasting a range
I need to paste the range "WHrange" from sheet "WidthHeight" to R1C1 in
sheet "Results" BUT I only want Values and Formats.
Incidentally, what already exists in the Results" sheet has to be moved to
the right to make space so seven columns must be inserted first - I can do
that by selecting the first seven columns and "Insert Column" but can that
be done indirectly too?

Counting # of events per day`
I have a file with the following format
col a event name
col b event date (e.g., 9/01/2006)
col c event day of week (Mon, Tu, etc)
col d, etc other info
There are about 1600 of them.
I need to get the following info:
Number of days throughout the year with 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 or more events per day
Similar results for Mondays, Tuesdays, etc.
Any suggestions on how to go about do...

How to delete most of the "custom sort list"
I didnt like what Excel imported now I have a lot of junk that will
take a very very long time to remove from the custom list. Is there a
way to delet them? I tried shift control and selecting the ones but

Excel v Windows Calculator precision
I am surprised to find that Windows Calculator (calc.exe) seems to have
a higher precision than Excel. For example 2^64 in Excel yields
18446744073709600000. In Windows calculator I get 18446744073709551616.
The same restriction exists in OpenOffice.org too, although KSpread on
Linux can go to 2^997 before reporting "INF" although of course it is
impossible to display all the numbers on one l...

I would like to use enter row in my formula, instead of spelling out

Getting currencyupdates to my excelsheet and now its crashes
I created a webquestion (not sure about the translation) that imported new
currencyrates every 20 minutes at another exceldocument and then i copied it
into another and next time I opened the newer dokument with the copyversion,
Excel crashes down and it cannot fully repair the file.
What can i do?
Is there a way that i can just delete the import so everything can get
smoothly or isnt ...

Locate numbers that sum to another
Is there a tool, or function that will analyze a range of numbers and
identify those numbers that add up to another number?
For example: I have a list of numbers.....

I want excel to analyze this list to tell me what combination sums to 6. In
this example, it would identify 2 and 4.....2+4=6.

Macro help:Create new workbook with pivot table
I have 2 seperate macro's.
Macro1 -creates a pivot table
Macro2- creates a workbook for each practice.
I would like to combine the two, so that after extracting data needed
to create each workbook I use it as the datasource to create the pivot

Impossibly Tiny Text
On rare occasions Excel 2003 (with all updates) screws up and will display
just one sheet with impossibly tiny text - like only one or two pels high on
the screen. All other sheets continue to look normal. All the cells appear
to still have correct information in them, it's just tiny.
I can select the entire sheet and tell it to use 100 point type and it will

In Excel, when setting the x axis values from a macro one can set the
value scale using
Axes(xValue).minimumscale = 11111. I also need to set the scale on the
y axis. Excel calls the y axis something odd and I can't remember or
find it. Can someone remind me of that correct syntex.

Macro in Template needs to go to XLS
I use Docmd.OutputTo in Access2003 to send the data from a report to
Excel.
I tell it to use a Template which has 1 macro assigned to it.
The OutputTo function saves it as a XLS file but the macro doesn't make
it to the new file.
Why, and is there something that will pass the macro from the template
to the XLS????
