compact and repair works but yields corruption error message
I am running A2K on Windows 2000 on 6 local machines which house the front
ends. The back end is on a server 75 miles away. I know I shouldn't be
doing this over a WAN, but it is either that or nothing at all and I have
been getting away with it for over 2 years.
Recently, when I opened the backend exclusively and did a compact and repair
(after making a backup copy) I got the error messa...

Access 2002 on XP-Home edition
I have Access 2002 installed on Microsoft XP-Home edition. But are they
compatible? I am finding that when I try to run an event procedure created
for a form field, it always jumps to a procedure of code that is different
from the event procedure that I am trying to run, and naturally causes a
compilation error because it is the wrong procedure. Then when closing the
VB debugging w...

Access 97 installation on XP machine with 2GB
I've installed Access 97 a dozen times on Windows XP machines that have
<=512MB of memory. I'm trying on a XP machine with 2GB. I'm getting an error
during installation of "not able to create system.mdw" and after installation
"an error occurred at changing workgroup database". I've copied an existing
system.mdw into the windows/system32 folder and now get a "out of memory
error". ...

Access 97 - problem copying since installing XP
I use a secured Access 97 database on a shared network drive. Since upgrading
to Windows XP, I am bumped out of the database when I try to copy data. I
run a query, and try to copy using different techniques such as right-click,
copy or ctrl+c, and each time I receive an error message asking if I want to
send a report. No matter what I select, I am bumped out of Access. When
selecting...

Application-defined or Object-defined error

This is in a school environment using the student's profile. The error is
not received using a teacher's profile or a network admin profile. I have
fairly stringent GPOs applied to the students for obvious reasons. What I

Access 97 and Access 2003
I have Access 2003 loaded on a Work PC. The Database I'll be working on is
an Access 97 DB, and upgrading to 2003 is not an option.
Are there any issues with loading Access97 (from the Office97 CD) with
Access 2003 already installed? Any preinstall recommendations or suggestions?
Thanks...

Cannot disable ActiveX reference
Apparently the latest Microsoft security "push" removed "plugins.ocx" from my
Windows/System32/ folder. Now my Access application no longer works.
I have tried removing the "Microsoft ActiveX Plugin" by unchecking that box
under VBA Tools > Reference. When I do this, the application runs fine.
However, I cannot save the setting so that this box is permanently unchecked.

Switchboard wizard won't open, and reinstall doesn't work
I'm getting an error that says there's a problem with the switchboard wizard

Reinstalling does NOT fix the problem, but it is the only solution
suggested. Any other solutions out there?...

Check for installation of Access
Hi
I have an access solution written in Access 2003 and to be deployed
(optionally)with the runtime onto various target machines.
I am packaging up all the components via Visual Studio 2003 (setup and
deployment project) which allows me to do conditional checking, pre-req
checking etc.
I wish to be able to determine if a target machine has either Access 2003
retail version or Acce...

I have a Report with a sub report on the report header. In the On Format

Need help on distributing data base
I have developed a data base to be distributed to 10-15 users who do not
have Access installed. I have the Sccess 2003 Developer Extensions and can
thus package a runtime version.
I guess that the best thing to do is to split the db in a back-end db with
the tables to be installed on the server, and a front-end db to be
distributed to the users. I have made a few attempt to do this but ...
