Securing Append Query
Hi: I was just wondering how can I secure an append query. I don't want the
users to see the design of my append query.
I used the RWOP for other select queries
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odeopg/html/deovrprotectingaccesssolution.asp)
but can't use this same technique with append query as I cannot write query
on append query. Any help in this regard...

Hi all,
I am having a slight issue with a new shortcut, using workgroup
security, in a Citrix environment.
The apps MDE opens OK and uses windows API calls to ask the user to
locate the BE database. When the BE is located and selected, the user
receives the following error:
Error 3033 You do not have the necessary permission to use the 'tblaa'
object. Have your system administrat...

Good afternoon,
Hypothetically...
If someone does development offline on another computer and then copy the
front-end that was developped back onto the network...should it work OR does
the *.mdw file need to be copied over as well?
I am asking because I did development work and for some unknown reason my
users, non-admin, recieve an error 3033 going on about the Msys... tbl....

HELP! I can't log on as ANYBODY!
OK, here's what I did.....
Took one of the computers from work home and tried to join a home workgroup
(WG1). When I did so, it asked me for an admin name and password, which I
gave it. Then it said I'd have to reboot to join the workgroup. When I
rebooted, I couldn't log on as ANYBODY, including the admin or ANY user.
WHAT DO I DO? I'm almost in tears!

I have a database that is located on a network drive. The database is in
2000 format. I can access the database from both a Windows 2000 and a
Windows XP machine.
However, when I try to access the database from a Windows Server 2003
machine the hour glass spins but the database never opens.
The strange thing is that there is another 2000 format database in a

Permissions for reading database
Hi!
I have Access database shared in a folder (Win XP) for a bunch of users over
a local network. Everyone should only read data (through a form) and use
folder as is, while only local user can change everything, delete and modify
files in a shared folder.
The problem is that I don't know how to implement that. If a I set the
folder sharing permission to only "read" for "Everyone" th...

Security Changes in Access 2003
We are in the process of migrating from Access XP to Access 2003. Due to the
security enhancements in 2003, some of the VBA objects commonly used in our
existing system are now considered as possible security issues in 2003.
These seem to include use of objects like "DoCmd" or the "Err" object...at
least as far as I've been able to figure out from documents on MSDN. I
wanted to see if...

share the database from Network server

I have an Access database and I need this to share in the network server.
Actually my users are only using some forms and printing the reports using
the database.
What are the steps I should use in order to access the database by my users
at the same time.
In hepfile, I saw that keep the database in shared mode.
Is that the only thing I have to do?

delete secure database
Hi Access Heros,
I thought I developed a secure database. I even disabled the shift bypass
key from information written by Joan on a previous thread. So I test loaded

copy first) Guess what? It worked! We deleted the be. I reviewed the
security accounts and permissions on the fe and be. Neither the Group, nor...

Trouble with security in Access 2003 DB after computer dies
Long story - but I have an Access 2003 DB that will not let me use any
of the objects. Before the transfer of the files to another computer
when I started Access I got a log in that I just hit enter and then a
password request, which I would enter a password. Now I go right to the
password request and then get "Security Warning". I click open and get
"Don't have permissions to run "Autoexec"....

What is the syntax for OpenDatabase so I can run the code below (which works
fine with non-secured databases)?
