"Save Action Cancelled"
I am getting the following in the Subject Line. This happens on two forms in
my frontend and I have checked the code for the forms and controls and
neither the form or the controls have a DoCmd.Save written into the code or
the controls. So I have no idea what is causing this. I have recently
converted from Office97 to version 2000-2003 Access. Any ideas?????...

Security Wizard
I ran the Security Wizard, but when the report shows up for Printing out, it
has " #name " in everyone of the Users and Groups. I can't see what all my
important information is for the Workgroup ID so that I can rebuild if
necessary. How can I fix?

Rights For ASP Connection To Access DB
I have an Active Server Page talking to an Access database on IIS6. What
rights are needed to the folder where the .mdb resides in order to write to
the tables?
This is on a corporate server where they REALLY have things secure!

Causes of Corruption??
Hi All,
I have setup a shared secure database using an mdw file and a batch file to
launch. The database has been working fine for several months now but today
for the second time it has corrupted.
The nature of the corruption varied but in each case I reckon we could have
been in a situation where one or two users were accessing the mdb file AND
somebody copied the mdb file.

Read Only??
Hi All,
My secure database has suddenly started to say that it has only opened read
only. I suspect a corruption as shortly before all the forms had
disappeared. I suspect the problem may have been caused by somebody trying
to open it over a slow link!!
Any suggestions please??
Incidentally Compact and repair has never worked - something to do with the
security I think.

Missing Toolbar
After failing to properly secure a database, I logged onto my workgroup file
and imported all objects into a new database and set permissions. This
succeeded in securing my file, but the custom toolbar did not come with it.
Is there any way to port a custom toolbar across data bases?

Record-Locking
I am currently testing my first multi-user application. User-level security
has been implemented, and seems to be working correctly, however,
record-locking is not. I have a few questions I hope someone can help with.

Strange Behavior of group permissions
Have an Access 2000 db in a mixed environment of W2K/Office2K, and
XP/Office2003, with file format as Access 2K. Error can be reproduced in

Owner locked out on certain condition
I developed a secured, multi-user Access application whereby I have a
front-end and a back-end. I copied the front-end on everyone's workstation
and I placed the data file on the server. I also copied the MDW file on the
server in the same folder as the data file and everyone points to that MDW
file when they log in.

Becoming the Owner
For some reason, I am not the Owner of my back-end database, which prevents
me from setting any permissions regarding new objects.

How do I get MS MapPoint to open queries from an MS Access database that has

Report wont open for non admin users
Hi
I have a multi user database, and I've added a new report. If an admin user
is using the database the report opens as it is meant to.
If a non admin user is using the database, when they try to open the report
the on open event runs (docmd.runsql to make a table which the report then
refers to), but the report itself fails to open.

I would like to delete my mdw file and start over with securing my database.
Im using access 2003 and I'm having problems with setting up workgroups with
other users with less permission. I'm a newbie, so can someone point me in

Security Problem with Adobe 7.0
I've implemented workgroup security and have Admins and PowerUsers group
(Users group does not have any permissions to view tables and I use RWOP
queries).
Everything was fine until one of my clients IT shops started installing Adobe

Removing Security from One MDB
At work (a small state office), a co-worker has an Access db
that will only open with the shortcut that provides the
paths to access and the MDW file. When opened by the
shortcut, there is no logon requirement.

Security nightmare
Dear gurus - need your help again,
I helped a friend to secure his access database in his office server - using
the User-Level security wizard. Now, he asked me to create some more reports
for his database.
Issue 1: When i copied the database on my PC does not open. Why?
Issue 2: How can I reset the security in order to create an unsecured

Is there a way to know the positioning coordinates of a control on a form?
I need a routine that will for example "move all controls on the form 1 inch
to the right".
The code below would work if I had the value for the variable oldPositionX,

Secure Backend
Hello,
I have a backend database and several frontends. The database has sensitive
data that only users of one of the frontends are authorized to view and
alter. Is there some way to lock down access to the backend by unathorized
users, but allow the frontend access to the backend to access what is
authorized?
