User-Security for an item in a database?
Does anyone know if it is at all possible to place password protection on
only a piece of the database? What I am trying to do is allow everyone to
open the database but when a specific button is pressed, only a handful of
people are allowed access to it. Is this possible?
Please advise....

Front End Linked Tables Aren't Secured
To test splitting, I manually split a copy of my db into BE and FE. Security
had already been set up/is working. When I logged on as a user, I discovered
that I did not have permissions on the linked tables; the queries/forms,
etc., seem to have retained the permissions. Is it normal to need to reset
permissions for the tables? Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere as a
necessary step.

ODBC linked table is not asking for password - Why
I setup a new database and imported some ODBC linked tables. Whenever my
users attempt to connect to the tables, once imported, it no longer asks for
the password.
In another Databse that I setup the same way, it continues to ask for the
password each time you try to connect to the imported tables.
Any idea as to how I can ensure that a password is requested each time the

Usernames and Passwords
I don't want to use the security wizard for user access. I'm aware of
another method where usernames and passwords are stored in a table and users
are granted access that way. How does one go about setting that up? Is there
a way to setup different levels of access using this method?
Thanks!

Transfer Data - 2 Secured Databases
I have two databases secured by different workgroup files, and I am trying to
figure out a way to import and/or append some data from database A to a table

I''ve read prior threads about unsecring the files and resecuring them with
the same workgourp file, but the conversations suggested that you had to

Microsoft Access cannot open this file.
I am helping a client who is on a server 2000 domain. She cannot open her
access database. She gets this message: "This file is located outside your
intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file due
to potential security problems."
I made a test databse and saved it to the server. I got the same message
when I tried to open it. Then, I made a test databse and...

clearly and solidly supported security breaching, and may wish to repent.

any ideas??
Babs,
I asked in the other thread if you also have the same code in the Current

change. What you are describing sounds like something caused by the Current
event firing.
