Backend DB Password
Hi Guys,
Have spilt my database FE & BE.
The FE has a username & password function for them to sign in, However, I
need a way to password protect the BE database so as only authorised users
can access this.
Can anyone tell me how this is done please?
Many thanks
Lez

Unsecuring a secure Access Database?
Hi,
having developed an access database to log Purchase Order discrepancies
for the company I work for, I have now been asked to make it available
for my work colleagues to use also.
I have learned the hard way that this is not an easy thing to achieve.
The database has served me well as a 'stand alone', 'single-user' tool,
I've never had any issues with it in the 18 months I've been dev...

Hello. How do I get unlocked?
Hi, I use word everyday. I am a writer. Yesterday I had been working on a
story. Today, I went back to finish and edit it and was locked out. I do not
know what this means. I do not know why. I have to constantly edit and change
things. Also, The program kept responding with a box stating for me to
convert. I tried this several times. It said it was successful, but I still
can not edit m...

Allowing only certain users to view design and code
I accidentally posted this question on the Install and Configure post but got
no answers so I am going to post it here:
I created a login form that checks for matching values (usernm and password)
on tblpassword to allow users to enter the database. The database menu
(which always remains open) records the usernm value. Additionally, I have
another form, frmPermissions, which contains a user...

How do I lock windows without logging off?
This may seem like a simple question, but I am wondering how to lock my
computer (not physically lock it to something) so a password is required for
anyone to use it. I found it using CTRL + ALT + DELETE but the lock computer
option isn't always available. I had a company computer that had it as a
shortcut on the desktop, and I can't seem to find it again. Any and all

Import to bypass security
I have discovered that to get around a secured Db, if you create a new Db
then import all objects from the secured Db you can then open the new one
without the password requirements and blocked permissions of the original
secured Db.
Have I missed something in the many instructions for securing your Db or is
this a known problem. Either way is there a solution to this problem?

Open Access from an Access program that is currently running
Is possible to open another Access program from an Access program that is
currently running ? I know you can run two separate Access programs at the
same time if opened from Desktop options. I also know that the command
button options do not allow you to do this. Is there some VBA coding that
could be entered into a command button "Click" event that would allow you to
do this ?
