Workgroup file in Network drive and Local computer
I have a MS Access application, which is secured by creating user
groups accounts (AppAdmins and AppUsers) and permissions. Both the
application MDB and the workgroup file .mdw are going to be in the
shared network drive.
Can someone copy the .mdw file to the local computer and consequently
join to the local .mdw? A user may initially have Administrative rights
and may be changed to normal...

Problem with References
There are many reasons why computer "A" has a reference and computer
"B","C",ext... does not. I really dont wont to go into details why.
With that said.
Problem: I write the software on computer "A". Computer "A" has the
reference "Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.8". However computers "B","C","D" only have
reference "Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.7". However computer "A" 0nly has "Microsft

Two DataBases, One Secure and One Not
I have two identical data bases. One contains "real data" and is secured by
user id and password and a data base password. Works fine. I have a copy
of it for "training" that only has a data base password, a different
password. It was set up this way so that people training do not have to
enter a user id and password.
When a design change is made to the real data base, I currently e...

Creating a workgroup
I am very scared!!! I have created a simple database in Access 2003 and want
to implement some security. I want to set up a few users who have limited
rights e.g. to enter new records, whilst I, as the Administrator, will have
the right to modify the database as I see fit. I want my users to not see the
toolbars at the top of Access as well.
I am making the database on one machine but n...

This errors out and I get MSAcces could not fine measurement.mdw. What am I

only one of us could get in at a time. (Hadn't yet taken steps to split db
into front/back ends.) Her login was working, and I could...
