more doubts about the replicas
Hello, I have been seeing the content of a main Table of one of replied MDB, and I have met with the following thing: see graphics below please! 1 - this table, contains a field ID AUTONUMER (created by me); and when they enter data in each one of replicas (in that same table) them, they are no longer continued generating the IDs consecutively but aleatory and until with negative ...

Manually editing the conflict table
I am trying to get rid of a conflict error that won't go away. Forgive my noviceness but how do I find the conflict table? I'm using Jet 4.0, Microsoft Access 2000 Ver 9.0 Build 6620 SP 3. Also, is it ok to just delete records in the conflict table? I have already re-spawned replicas from the design master so there shouldn't be any real conflicts. -David "David W. Fenton" <X...

Synchronizer stops unexpectedly
I am using access2000 repman & indirect synchronization. Everything works fine for few days. But now the syhchronizer at one site stops unexpectedly. If I manually start it, it just stops & leaves a "faulting application MSTRAN40.exe" event. If I unmanage the current database, the synchronizer can start & keep running. I notice this database has a replica at remote PC, and the dropbox at rem...

Create A Replica Partner List
Greetings, I have a split db that the back end db is replicated. I have a form that the users open when they need to synch with the replica hub. Occassionally, the users will be on the road and need to synch with each other. What table and fields would I need to query to build a list of replica partners similar to the list that appears when you select Syncronize Now from the Tools | Replic...

Auto linking of laptop FE to proper BE when remote and when on the LAN
Just been reading the archives on how to handle replication with Jet 4.0. I will likely be using direct replication when laptop users return to the office periodically. I have read that they should replicate when the return and immediately before they leave. I have also read that they should utilize the LAN BE while working at the office. Anyone have experience writing VBA code to ...

Weird Replication Scenario
I'm hoping to get some advice on how to do replication for an Access 2003 database. I've got two offices, neither of which are ever directly connected to each other (no VPN, no dial-up, etc. Believe me, I would love it if I could have that, but the bosses say no.) Both have regular Internet access. The only way these two sites can exchange files is by one office manually uploaded a fi...

ReplMan Needs to Run?
Does ReplMan need to be loaded for scheduled synchs between a managed replica and an unmanaged replica to occur? Everything has been working fine with my Access XP synch until last week when I closed Replication Manager (I'd left it loaded on the server for a few months). Since then the scheduled synch between a managed hub and an unmanaged replica have not occurred. The synchronizer is st...

Can't clear sync error
I synced the design master with one replica file, now it says I have conflicts and would I like to resolve them. So I said 'yes'. It displays the conflict resolver and shows that I have one table and one record with conflicts. However, when I click 'view' it gives an a pop-up error message and says it is unable to view or resolve this error. I've tried everything I can think of to get a...

Vista and A2K???
Has anyone tried synchronizing using the standard code for synchronizing with Vista and Access 2000 data and application? We're getting errors that we can click past and still get a synchronization but, security and going through the Vista firewall appear to be at issue. Are there any known issues? Thanks in advance, RB ...

Database Loses Replication
The other forum couldn't answer this so I try here. Replication,
I know very little about access. In reading these posts on replication, How do I tell if I have a front end back end set up on a database that was created by someone who was a summer intern? If I am correct in reading the posts here. You need to have your data spit up from your forms in order for replication to work correctly. Thanks...

Code to initiate sync from replica
I'm in the process of developing an application where my users will take a replicated db out of the office on a laptop and, upon their return, sync to the master db on the company network. I'm trying to use the code below to initate the sync process from the replica (after connecting to the network the users would click a button in their laptop-based replicated db and it would sync with the...

Syncronizing MDB back end via e-mail
I have a database split into FE and BE. The users are all remote and there is no network. The users would like to keep their databases synced via e-mail. I've done some reading that replication via e-mail should not be done and usually leads to a currupt database. So the question is, what the best way to keep remote users BE synced via e-mail? ...

Front End Back End Database
Hello, Following the instructions given on this site (thank you!), I took a database and split out the table to the back end and then all queries, forms, macros, etc to the front end. I have linked the Front End to the Back End tables. I did this on my local drive as a tester, so my question is: Can I cut both the front and back and move them to a shared drive location and begin to use? I ...

Synchronization History AWOL
Hi Firstly - what a relief to find an Access Community with a dedicated Replication area. I've found it increasingly difficult to find the similar area on the Microsoft site. ReplMan is on both client and server...
